Prologue – The Night Justice Died
The rain had not stopped for three days.
It poured relentlessly over the abandoned outskirts of the city, where a crumbling warehouse stood like a forgotten scar. Every flash of lightning revealed streaks of blood mixing with the rainwater, flowing silently across the cracked concrete floor.
Inside the warehouse stood twelve armed men.
No one spoke.
No one moved.
The only sound was the rain pounding against the broken roof.
At the center of the room stood Arjun Malhotra, the most feared crime lord the city had ever known.
For nearly twenty years, his name had ruled the city through fear.
Politicians obeyed him.
Police officers looked the other way.
Judges accepted his money.
Anyone who dared to stand against him disappeared without a trace.
His empire wasn’t built on wealth.
It was built on blood.
Children grew up without parents because of his orders.
Families were destroyed.
Witnesses were silenced forever.
And through it all...
Arjun never felt an ounce of guilt.
To him, mercy was weakness.
Trust was a mistake.
Power was the only truth.
But tonight...
Power had abandoned him.
The men surrounding him had once sworn loyalty.
Now they stood with guns pointed at the man they had followed for years.
Standing closest was Raghav, Arjun’s oldest friend.
His hands trembled as he raised his pistol.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered.
Arjun looked at him...
...and laughed.
Not because he forgave him.
Because he had always known this day would come.
“Traitors never live long,” Arjun said quietly.
Raghav met his eyes.
“So do monsters.”
The first bullet struck Arjun’s shoulder.
The second shattered his ribs.
The third tore through his heart.
He fell to his knees.
Outside, the rain grew even heavier, as though the sky itself wanted to wash away his sins.
As darkness swallowed his vision, Arjun expected death.
Instead...
He opened his eyes.
He was standing beside his own lifeless body.
The warehouse was completely silent.
The rain had stopped.
The men who had killed him were frozen in place.
Even time itself seemed to stand still.
Then the temperature dropped.
A cold darkness spread through the room.
A voice echoed from everywhere.
Not a man’s.
Not a woman’s.
Ancient.
Endless.
“You took countless lives without justice.”
Arjun looked around.
“Who’s there?”
“You believed no one could judge you.”
The shadows on the walls began to move.
They stretched across the floor like living creatures.
“You escaped human law.”
The darkness surrounded him.
“But no soul escapes ours.”
Arjun tried to run.
He couldn’t move.
The shadows wrapped around his legs like chains.
“You wished to become death.”
The voice grew louder.
“So death shall become your sentence.”
Suddenly...
Faces emerged from the darkness.
Men.
Women.
Children.
Every innocent life that had ended because of his choices.
They didn’t look at him with hatred.
They looked at him with sorrow.
One by one, they whispered the same word.
“Remember.”
Pain unlike anything he had ever imagined tore through his soul.
He relived every murder.
Not through his own eyes...
But through the eyes of his victims.
Every scream.
Every final breath.
Every unanswered prayer.
Every moment of terror.
Time lost all meaning.
It felt like centuries before the agony finally ended.
The ancient voice spoke once more.
“There is no Heaven for you.”
“There is no Hell for you.”
“There is only Judgment.”
“Until every soul that walks the path you once chose has answered for its sins...”
“...you shall know no peace.”
The warehouse vanished.
The city disappeared.
The world faded into darkness.
Silence.
Then...
Two crimson eyes slowly opened within the endless void.
From that night on, criminals would whisper about a ghost that hunted only the guilty.
Some called it a curse.
Some called it justice.
But those who feared it most knew only one name.
Ghost of Justice.
