Whenever I Seem Exhausted, Will You Pull Me Into the Middle of the Rain and Run With Me Again?
I like it when it rains. Most people hate the rain, but for me, it means I’m not crying alone.
I sit here on the cold sofa in the airport, staring at people leaving, arriving, running toward someone, or running away. And I think back to what my childhood taught me, only to realize that everything I believed was a lie.
Fairytales told me bonds were unbreakable. That family meant safety, a home, and comfort. But no, even my own family couldn’t give me that. How could they, when the monsters were inside them all along?

I’ve never begged for anyone. Not once.
But that night, I broke. Whispering into the darkness.
Please. Mom, Dad
Please stay.
Please choose me.
Please don’t leave.
My tears blurred into the memory of my father standing there—smiling once, promising us forever. But forever was fragile.
The loneliness I felt after my own mother disowned her first child. Choosing another path without my presence. In just one night, it shattered.
My father cheated. My father got another woman pregnant. And in that moment, the world I believed in collapsed. The family we have is being torn apart – and it ends with me ALONE.
