Chapter 1

A banquet was held by the Vandamin Spine family and the San Los Damine family.

"I heard that the two kingdoms are going to unite. Is that true?" asked a man from one of the largest bachelor families.

As time passed, the banquet began. The hall was filled with light, people danced to the music, and servants served food. Suddenly, a silence fell over the room as the head of the San Los Damine family stood up.

The king slowly walked to the center of the hall as the guests gathered around him. He cleared his throat and began to speak.

"Thank you to all our guests for coming today. For the sake of my daughter Catherine's future, and with the agreement of the Vandamin Spine family and myself, I would like to make an announcement."

The entire hall fell silent.

"I hereby announce that my daughter, Princess Catherine San Los Damine, is engaged to..."

The noble families and kingdoms watched eagerly, expecting him to announce the name of one of their own sons.

"...Marco Vandamin Spine."

For a brief moment, the hall was silent. Then the guests burst into applause.

Catherine immediately stood beside her father.

"Dad you made...this decison by yourself. Why Father? Please tell me your lying"

Lionel Daken gently patted Catherine's back

"I am sorry my dear, but it's true"

Catherine stood frozen in disbelief, unable to accept what she had just heard

Not far away, Marco clenched his fists. Anger flashee across his face, but he forced himself to remain calm. He had been juged before he had spoken a single word.

As time passes, the banquet comes to an end, the guests slowly left the hall while Catherine returned to her room.

She lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling as the announcement keep replaying over and over again in her mind.

The memory bought her back to the day, she had humiliated Marco

Half-Claimed

Bargara4670: Half-Claimed was easy to read with a well-thought-out plot that kept me interested throughout. Many of these revenge stories seem to have the abused heroine turning into a vicious harpy who I end up disliking as much as her abusers. I like to feel empathy with the main characters, and I found that I...
