Chapter 1- The Funeral That Hadn’t Happened Yet
Ethan froze.
The church was silent except for the sound of rain hitting the roof.
At the front stood a black coffin.
People were crying.
His mother was crying.
His classmates wore black.
Then he saw the photograph on top of the coffin.
His own face.
He gasped.
His eyes snapped open.
6:30 a.m.
His alarm blared beside his bed.
He sat upright, breathing heavily.
“It was just a dream,” he whispered.
But it didn’t feel like one.
Every detail was too real—the smell of flowers, the sound of people sobbing, the cold rain.
At school, he tried to forget it.
Then his teacher walked in wearing the exact blue tie from the funeral.
His stomach tightened.
A minute later, the principal announced that heavy rain would begin at noon.
Exactly like in the dream.
By lunchtime, Ethan realized something terrifying.
His dream wasn’t a dream.
It was tomorrow.
And tomorrow…
he would be dead.
