Summary

Elena Hart never expected a fresh start in the quiet town of Raven Hollow to change her life forever. Still grieving the loss of her mother, she is drawn to the mysterious Lucien Ashford—a handsome young man with haunting silver eyes, impossible strength, and a secret that has survived for over three centuries. When Elena discovers Lucien is a vampire, she is thrust into a hidden world of ancient bloodlines, powerful witches, ruthless hunters, and deadly werewolves. But the greatest mystery isn't who Lucien is—it's who she is. As an ancient evil begins to awaken, Elena learns that her blood holds the key to a prophecy that could either save the world or plunge it into eternal darkness. With enemies closing in from every side, she must decide whether to trust the vampire who has stolen her heart... or believe the ones who call him a monster. In a world where every secret is written in blood, love is the most dangerous choice of all. Will Elena sacrifice everything for the vampire she loves... or will their forbidden romance become the beginning of the end? Some loves never die. They become legends.

Chapter 1:the girl who didn’t belong

The town of Raven Hollow greeted Elena Hart with rain.

Not the gentle kind that whispered against windows, but the cold, relentless rain that blurred the winding roads and made the towering pine trees look like dark giants standing guard.

She pressed her forehead against the passenger window as her aunt's old pickup truck rolled into town.

"So," Aunt Margaret said, forcing a smile, "what do you think?"

Elena shrugged.

"It looks... quiet."

"Quiet is good."

Maybe.

Or maybe quiet was exactly what she feared.

Three months ago, her life had shattered when her mother died in a mysterious car accident. Since then, every day had felt like walking through someone else's dream. Her father had disappeared years before she was born, leaving behind only a faded photograph and unanswered questions.

Now Raven Hollow was supposed to be her fresh start.

Instead, it felt like she'd driven straight into a ghost story.

The town was small—one main street lined with old brick buildings, antique shops, a bakery, a bookstore, and a clock tower that hadn't chimed in years. Everyone seemed to know everyone.

And everyone stared.

As the truck passed, conversations stopped. Shopkeepers watched from their windows. A little girl pointed at Elena before her mother quickly lowered her hand.

"They're just curious," Aunt Margaret said.

Elena wasn't convinced.

The old Hart house stood on the edge of town, surrounded by towering trees and wrapped in ivy.

It looked abandoned.

"This is home now," Aunt Margaret said softly.

Inside smelled of cedar wood, dust, and forgotten memories.

Boxes filled every room.

As Elena carried hers upstairs, she noticed something odd.

One bedroom door was locked.

"What's in there?"

Her aunt froze for just a second.

"Nothing you need to worry about."

The answer came too quickly.

The next morning was her first day at Raven Hollow Academy.

Walking through the front gates felt like stepping into another world.

Students laughed in small groups, teachers greeted one another, and lockers slammed shut.

Elena immediately felt invisible.

Until everyone suddenly became silent.

She followed their gaze.

A black vintage car pulled into the parking lot.

Out stepped a young man dressed entirely in black.

His dark hair moved with the wind.

His skin was impossibly pale.

His eyes...

Even from across the parking lot, they seemed almost silver.

He didn't smile.

He didn't speak.

He simply walked through the crowd as students instinctively moved aside.

"Who's that?" Elena whispered.

The girl beside her answered without taking her eyes off him.

"Lucien Ashford."

"New student?"

The girl laughed.

"No."

"What do you mean?"

"Let's just say... he's been here a very long time."

Before Elena could ask another question, Lucien stopped walking.

Slowly...

He turned.

Their eyes met.

Time seemed to stop.

A strange feeling rushed through Elena's chest, as if she'd known him before.

Lucien's expression changed from calm...

...to complete shock.

He whispered a single word so quietly that no one else heard.

"Impossible."

Then, without another glance, he turned and disappeared into the school.

Elena stood frozen.

She had no idea why a complete stranger looked at her as though he'd just seen a ghost.

But somehow...

She knew meeting Lucien Ashford had changed her life forever.

He didn't really redeem himself (so good thing he's amazing in bed haha), so I still feel she shouldn't have taken him back easily.
