Isla
It has been so long standing here trying to get some sleep. It was like fighting an invisible opponent wishing you could see it. Its 2am getting closer and closer to the devil’s hour and I’m yet not asleep. Having insomnia isn’t nice. It has been like this since I lost my parents in catastrophic car accident.
They died right after I lost him seven years ago. Both incidents happening at the same time. I have my big brothers but I’m alone. I feel alone inside and out. My brothers aren’t always here by my side. Financially, yes. Physically, yes but emotionally, quite the opposite.
Standing at the balcony looking at the night sky made me feel at peace even though it is for a moment. A moment I would choose again and again in a heartbeat. The full moon shone so brightly, and the stars did as well. It looked ethereal like something out of reality but also in touch with it as well. I hope it makes sense.
Down the stairs I went to find some way to get sleep.Netflix,Amazon Prime,HuluandHBO Maxlooking through to watch some movies or series that might be interesting. Just something that can bring sleep to my eyes.
The living room looked so dull like no one is living here. Which is the truth, no matter how you look at it. I am being the only occupant of this whole house. I got toNetflixseeing The Brothers Sun, Inside Out 2 and Kung Fu Panda 4. I exhaled out loud finding everything so boring.
As I was about to pick The Brothers Sun, an immense pressure came over me. It felt like having ten tons on your shoulders. The pressure was too much for me. Feeling weaker and weaker as each second passed by. I didn’t know what was happening to me nor that I had a clue about it. My eyes heavy wanting to shut down and they did. Losing the battle with an invincible opponent.
..................Red moon? Looks like Lunar Eclipse is happening. So where am I?
The feel... The smell surrounding this place. The air surrounding this environment felt so familiar to me. Questions ran in my mind.There’s no way I could have been here, right? But why am I feeling this way? Why am I responding to this place?
A dark fog covered up the area. I couldn’t see anything. I just ran. Ran until my legs give up. Had no sense of direction of where I’d end up at.
Then I bumped onto something hard and warm falling on my butt hard. I pulled myself up rubbing my butt. A hot minty breath fanned my neck.Wait minty?
I quickly turned around meeting someone with black soulless eyes. A monster, someone would say about his eyes. Somehow, they looked beautiful on him. I couldn’t see the rest of his face, but I knew that he is freaking handsome.
“Don’t fall on me like that,Kahlani.” I looked at him. Really looked at him. Shocked by the name he called me by. Only he did. He was the only one who called meKahlani. Only him, he’d call me by that name. No one else knows but why does he?
“How do you know my name?” I got dizzy all of a sudden as I asked him that. I wanted to know. curiosity was eating at me. “I’m coming,Kahlani. It’s my job to know your name, Isla. But soon you’ll know mine.” He smiled. Now I was seeing double. What’s happening to me?What’s with this place? Strange, that’s the word explaining this.
Then he disappeared like he was never there. I couldn’t breathe feeling my lungs shrink every second. I cried out loud not knowing what to do. The stupid breathing in and out technique was useless. Darkness began to creep up on me, but it stopped when a woman hugged me. Her presence was calming me down. Bringing me back to reality.
Her hands so delicate as feathers wiped my tears away. Her touch was sofamiliar. Pure like a white dove. It was my mother. “My baby girl. Be brave when you finally open your eyes..” She kept on talking. I didn’t listen or pay attention to her. My ears were ringing so I heard bits and pieces.
Someone stood behind her smiling at me. Fangs and canines appeared making him look like a predator. Well, he is one. ′Who is he?′ I asked myself. He knows me but I don’t. “See you soon, Kahlani.” A sly smirk was on his face then he disappeared again. Never to be seen again.
“Isla, all will be ok when you meet him. Be brave. You’re his light. Only you can tame him. Fate is always against him in finding happiness.” She got my attention and I asked myself questions.
Who is he really? What is it about him that concerns me? Needs me?

My eyes opened seeing a new day has begun. I wouldn’t call it sleep but I did sleep. So I’m thankful that it happened. Now I have to go to school as the year has begun.
I hope it will go the way I want it to be.
