Chapter 1:The forgotten sketchbook

Chapter 1: The Forgotten Sketchbook

The warm spring breeze drifted through the park, carrying soft pink cherry blossom petals through the air.

Kiyoshi Mizuno sat quietly on a wooden bench, his sketchbook resting on his lap.

His pencil moved across the paper with calm, steady strokes.

Drawing had always been his favorite thing to do. Whenever he sketched, the noisy world around him seemed to disappear.

After finishing another page, he smiled faintly at his work.

"...Not bad."

He looked at the time on his phone.

"Oh... It's getting late."

Kiyoshi carefully packed his pencils into his bag. As he stood up, he slung the bag over his shoulder and walked toward home, enjoying the peaceful evening.

The park slowly became quiet.

A few minutes later...

A girl with long black hair entered the park.

She hummed softly as she walked beneath the cherry blossom trees.

Suddenly, something caught her eye.

"A sketchbook?"

It was lying on the bench.

She picked it up and looked around.

"Hello? Did someone forget this?"

No one answered.

Curious, she gently opened the first page.

Her eyes widened.

Every page was filled with beautiful pencil sketches—trees, flowers, birds, and people passing by.

"So pretty..."

She continued turning the pages, amazed by each drawing.

Then she noticed a name written neatly on the inside cover.

Kiyoshi Mizuno.

She smiled.

"I hope I can return this to him someday."

Closing the sketchbook carefully, she held it close and continued walking beneath the falling cherry blossoms.

Little did either of them know...

This forgotten sketchbook would become the beginning of a story that would change both of their lives forever.

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.
