Episode 2 — "The Funny Contract"
Ethan wakes up hoping yesterday was just a strange dream.
It isn't.
His phone is filled with messages.
"Your performance was incredible!"
"When's your next show?"
"You're the new comedy sensation!"
Confused, he heads to the studio to explain everything.
Instead of listening, the producers hand him a dressing-room key and a schedule.
"Five minutes to rehearsal!"
Ethan has no material, no jokes, and no idea what he's doing.
On stage, he tries to confess.
"I'm not actually a comedian..."
The audience laughs.

Ethan smiles awkwardly.

The studio is louder than ever.
Today's audience is twice the size.
The producer hands Ethan a single card.

His heart sinks.
"I don't have a script."
The producer grins.
"Exactly. That's why people love you."
The countdown begins.
5... 4... 3... 2...
The lights explode across the stage.
Ethan walks out to roaring applause.
He stands there in complete silence.

Someone in the crowd coughs.
Ethan looks at him and says,

Ethan Carter.

"He doesn't write jokes," Victor says.

Ethan steps onto the stage.
The audience cheers.

"Are you funny all the time?"

"No... sometimes I can't even make my alarm clock wake me up."

The curtain closes.

The theater is sold out.
Every seat is taken.
But something feels different.
