The Zenith Rising Cup Arc: Chapter 1 The Unknown Striker

Kai Zenith is now 61 years old and fully retired.

Instead of chasing more trophies, he has transformed the Zenith Foundation into the largest football development organization in history.

Every year it hosts:

The Zenith Rising Cup

196 countries invited.

Millions of participants.

The winner earns a professional academy contract and a life-changing scholarship.

Scouts from every major club attend.

The tournament's motto:

"Talent belongs to no nation. Opportunity should."

Philippines

Calumpit, Bulacan

In a small rented house lives a 15-year-old boy.

Name

Isagi Yoichi

Family

Father:

A construction worker who has been unemployed for months.

Mother:

Works long hours sewing clothes from home.

Family debt:

₱2.8 million.

Electricity is often cut.

Some nights they eat only rice and soy sauce.

One evening...

Yoichi overhears his parents talking.

His father quietly says,

"Maybe we should sell the house..."

His mother answers,

"I don't want the kids to know."

Yoichi hears everything.

That night...

He makes a decision.

"Football."

Not because he loves it.

Not because he dreams of trophies.

He says to himself:

"If football is the fastest way to make enough money to save my family... then football is my future."

Month One

He owns:

One worn-out football.

One pair of cheap rubber shoes.

A dusty basketball court behind a public school.

No coach.

No academy.

No internet tutorials beyond free videos.

No teammates.

Every day...

5:00 AM

Wall passes.

First touch.

Sprinting.

Shooting.

Watching professional matches on a borrowed phone.

He doesn't just copy movements.

He tries to understand why they work.

His analytical mind begins connecting patterns.

After only one month...

Something unusual happens.

His improvement is unlike anything anyone has ever seen.

Not because his body is extraordinary...

But because his football IQ develops at an unbelievable pace.

He can predict passing lanes before they form.

He instinctively moves into dangerous spaces.

He starts seeing the field like a constantly changing puzzle.

His playstyle begins resembling a blend of:

Isagi Yoichi's spatial awareness.

Itoshi Rin's precision.

Kaiser's finishing.

Loki's acceleration.

Sae's passing vision.

But there's something different.

His philosophy is simple:

"Goals aren't beautiful.

They're survival."

The Opportunity:

One afternoon...

His school receives an invitation.

The Zenith Foundation is organizing a local qualifying tournament.

Prize:

The winning team advances to the Philippine National Qualifier.

Problem...

His school has no football team.

Yoichi walks around campus.

He recruits classmates who have never played football.

One is a volleyball player.

One plays basketball.

One is a sprinter.

One is overweight but fearless as a goalkeeper.

One has never played any sport.

People laugh.

"You're entering a football tournament with beginners?"

Yoichi simply replies,*"They don't need experience.

They only need to trust me."

Tournament Day:

Their opponents are academy players with years of training.

The whistle blows.

For the first five minutes...

Yoichi's team can barely complete a pass.

They trail 0–2.

The crowd assumes it's over.

Then...

Yoichi stops chasing the ball.

Instead, he starts reading the entire field.

He notices patterns.

The left-back always steps too high.

The goalkeeper favors his right side.

The center-back hesitates under pressure.

His teammates begin hearing calm instructions:

"Three steps left."

"Don't look at me. Pass behind you."

"Run now."

The movements seem random...

Until they suddenly create space.

A through ball.

One touch.

GOAL.

Final score:

5–4

Yoichi scores all five.

Not through flashy dribbles, but by always appearing exactly where the ball is about to be.

Elsewhere...

Inside Zenith Foundation headquarters...

The match is being monitored by an AI system that tracks promising talent.

The system freezes.

Then flashes red.

Potential Index: ERROR

The probability model breaks.

One month of training...

Yet his decision-making resembles elite academy graduates.

The analysts assume it's a software bug.

The footage is sent to one person.

Kai Zenith

Now 61 years old.

He watches the match in silence.

When it ends, everyone in the room waits for his opinion.

Kai speaks only one sentence.

"Don't scout him... yet."

The room is confused.

He continues:

"If we take him now, we'll teach him our football.

I want to see what kind of football he creates on his own."

For the first time in years...

Kai smiles.

Because somewhere in the Philippines, a boy who has played football for only one month has just taken the first step toward changing the world.z.
