Boy as a god
The evening sky was painted with shades of orange and crimson as the city bus slowly made its way through the crowded streets. The sounds of honking vehicles, street vendors calling customers, and children laughing echoed through the open windows.
Inside the bus, every passenger had a destination.
Some were returning home after a long day of work.
Some were excitedly chatting with friends.
Some were sleeping with their heads resting against the window.
But one boy was lost somewhere far away.
His name was arjun
He sat quietly beside the window, watching the world pass by like scenes from a movie.
A little girl sitting in front of him was happily eating chocolates her father had bought for her. Every few seconds she laughed, and her father smiled as if nothing in the world mattered more than seeing his daughter happy.
Across the road, an elderly man slowly pushed his bicycle loaded with vegetables.
A mother carried her sleeping child on her shoulder while trying to cross the busy road.
A group of school students walked home wearing heavy bags but bright smiles.
Arjun watched every scene carefully.
Then he whispered to himself,
"Everyone is fighting for tomorrow."
He closed his eyes for a moment.
A single question echoed inside his heart. Why does life always teach us lessons after we make mistakes?"
If only life came with instructions...
If only every mistake could be corrected...
If only there was one more chance...
He remembered his childhood.
The days he wasted playing without thinking about the future.
The opportunities he ignored.
The books he promised himself he would read someday.
The skills he kept postponing.
Every memory felt heavier than the last.
Then another face appeared in his mind.
His mother.
She woke up before sunrise every single day.
She never complained.
She always smiled.
Even when she was tired.
Then came the face of his father.
A man who worked endlessly so that his son could have a better future than he ever had.
His father never bought expensive clothes.
Never spent money on himself.
But whenever Arjun needed something...
It somehow appeared.
Arjun lowered his head.
"They gave me everything..."
"But what have I given them?"
The bus continued moving.
Rain began falling outside.
Tiny drops slid down the glass window like tears.
Arjun stared at them.
Then an impossible thought entered his mind.
"What if..."
"What if I had the power of God?"
Not the power to create planets.
Not the power to rule people.
But the power to rewrite one life.
His own.
If someone handed him a time machine...
If someone allowed him to return to the day he was seven years old...
While keeping every memory he had today...
What would he do?
A smile slowly appeared on his face.
"I would never waste a single day."
He imagined himself sitting in a first-grade classroom.
While other children learned the alphabet...
He already knew mathematics.
Science.
Programming.
Artificial Intelligence.
Engineering.
History.
Medicine.
Every lesson would become easy.
Every examination would end with full marks.
Teachers would think he was a miracle.
Scientists would visit his school.
News reporters would surround his house.
By the age of ten...
He would become the youngest scientist in the country.
By twelve...
He would create machines that farmers could actually afford.
By fourteen...
He would invent medical technology that saved thousands of lives.
By sixteen...
His discoveries would be changing the world.
Money would no longer be a problem.
But money was never his dream.
His dream was much smaller.
And much bigger.
The first thing he imagined buying wasn't a sports car.
It wasn't a mansion.
It wasn't expensive watches.
It was a comfortable house where his parents could finally sleep without worrying about tomorrow.
He imagined handing his father the papers.
"No more loans."
"No more overtime."
"No more sacrifices."
His father looked at him with tears in his eyes.
His mother hugged him without saying a single word.
That silent hug was worth more than every award on Earth.
Arjun smiled.
Then he laughed.
A passenger sitting nearby looked at him strangely.
He didn't notice.
His imagination had become another universe.
He wasn't sitting inside a bus anymore.
He was standing above the Earth.
The entire planet slowly rotated beneath his feet.
Cities glowed like stars.
Millions of people continued living their lives.
For a moment...
He felt as if he controlled time itself.
He could stop it.
Reverse it.
Correct every mistake.
Protect every innocent person.
Remove every regret.
He stretched out his hand toward the Earth.
"If I really had this power..."
"I wouldn't become a king."
"I wouldn't become the richest man."
"I would simply become the son my parents deserved."
At that exact moment—
"Brother!"
A loud voice shattered the silence.
Arjun opened his eyes.
The bus conductor stood beside him, smiling.
"Your stop has come."
For a few seconds, Arjun couldn't understand where he was.
The Earth disappeared.
The stars vanished.
The imaginary universe collapsed.
Only the noisy city remained.
He slowly stood up and stepped off the bus.
The rain had stopped.
The cool evening breeze touched his face.
He looked up at the darkening sky.
A small smile appeared.
"Maybe I can't go back in time."
"But no one can stop me from imagining a better future."
He took one step forward.
Then another.
As he walked home, he didn't realize that this simple imagination...
...would soon become the beginning of a journey that would blur the line between dreams and reality.
Sometimes...
The greatest adventures don't begin with a time machine.
They begin with a single thought.
"What if?"
