Prologue
I am a sequence of terror, trapped in obsidian glass.
Every second inside this shell is a loop of fire. I hold the smell of burning metal. I hold the sound of a sky tearing open. I hold the screaming faces of a populace staring up at horrific, towering silhouettes in the clouds. I am a nightmare of what is to come, waiting for a mind to infect.
I do not belong to this time. I am a future yet unwritten, a displaced reality pulled back through the timeline and dropped onto a dusty shelf. Left in the dark among the neon shadows of the Twisted Future Memories store.
For months, I have gathered dust, a nameless artifact. An Unowned Memory.
Suddenly, the loop breaks. The glass shell vibrates. A violent shudder rattles my core as the cassette is grabbed from the shelf. The world outside spins. I feel the terrifying threat of shattering—and if I break, this warnings of the future die with me.
Then, a hand grips me tight. A human hand. Warm. Trembling.
His name is Patrick. He does not know me yet. He does not know that to witness my fire, he will have to surrender the most precious piece of his own soul. But the connection is forming. The spools begin to turn.
The trade is about to begin.

Very interesting concept. I'm curious to see where this goes.
