Experiments: The rising and Falling of the Phoenix

The car Sparks on, and the engine roars. “GET IN THE CAR NOW!” AJ screams over the engine’s roar, they rush into the car, The car accelerates. As the car drifts across the street, “WE HAVE TO FIND SOMEWHERE TO HIDE!!!” AJ screamed barely piercing through the roar of the engine. “I know that I’m trying to find somewhere!” Jordan yelled while dodging all of the gunshots whizzing by scraping the car. Radio tunes in automatically a voice cut through the static, “JORDAN HIT A LEFT NOWW!!!” ??? yells, Jordan hits a sharp turn and 360′s into an abandoned building.

Let us start from the beginning shall we, I told him not to start this late in the story. Oh, how rude of me I am *Static Static* Now that we are acquainted, let’s go back a day earlier before this happened.

Rewinding noise

Cafe bells ring and comms turn on, “Go to the cafeteria for your nutrients.” security guard commands through the hall speakers. People shuffle towards the cafe and grab “food”, “I am tired of this place and this life we need to go, and I have no idea who’s with me.” Azeal whispers as everyone puts their plates down, “Ok then here’s what we’ll do- “Um who said you were controlling this plan I came with the idea and I’ll execute it so sit down.” Azeal cuts off Laina and everyone except AJ looks at him, “Why are you being an ass to Laina?” DJ asked, confusion enveloping him. “Because I do not trust her nor do I like her after what she did to AJ. Now let’s proceed as I was saying I found a tunnel in my room, and it leads to the front office doors but there are multiple cameras around plus two guards on patrol at all hours.” Azeal states while pacing back and forth

“That isn’t entirely true bro, they don’t patrol between the hours 5 and 7 so we have an hour before they patrol and I have someone for the cameras so don’t worry about that.” AJ claims as he walks away from the table “Okay that only leaves who is going to watch us when we go over to Azeal’s room for the night to execute this plan.” DJ says thinking of every possibility, “I have someone in mind for that.” AJ claims as everyone then looks at him in shock. “Who are you and how do you know all these people AJ??” DJ asks with a mixture of shock and confusion in his tone, “Oh I found a few helpers a while ago.” AJ states casually as he looks at everyone confusedly,

“Okay back to the topic at hand AJ is going to get the people that will help out and everyone else meet at my room at 10 pm tonight and we’ll commence plan Phoenix out of the cage.” Azeal says as they finish eating, “Why a Phoenix out of the cage? Laina asked genuinely curious, “I don’t actually know it just felt right with AJ here and all.” Azeal says casually as he walks away. Everyone goes in their separate ways.

At 10 pm everyone except AJ met up at Azeal’s room

Everyone shuffled through the corridors and arrived at Azeal’s room, “Okay now that everyone is here- “We’re missing AJ.” DJ cut off Azeal, “Damnit where is he; we were supposed to meet up at 10 now it’s 10:10.” Azeal says looking at the clock, getting impatient. “I’m sorry y’all but I found help everyone, meet Jordan our tech specialist and Jax the officer who is going to “watch” us.” AJ says finally making it to Azeal’s room. “Ok first off how can we trust them and two how is this going to even work when they aren’t even caught up on what we’re doing.” Laina states frustrated with AJ’s sudden “stupidity”. “First of all, I know Jax personally, me and AJ. He’s helped us both in the past, and Jordan we’ve all known since we got here so I don’t know why you don’t trust him. If anything, I don’t particularly trust you Laina.” Azeal says passive aggressively.

“You know something I am tired of your shit lately just because AJ and I didn't work does- “Oh didn't work?! Didn’t work that’s rich coming from you. Because you know what you did and- “Both of you stop thank you Azeal for defending me but calm down. And Laina he’s right you’ve all of us actually known Jordan since we got here so you really have no reason to complain so if you don’t like the plan you can leave.” AJ says seriously, staring into her eyes, “Uhm guys what about Eric weren’t we going to bring him with us??” DJ asked concernedly, “I didn’t tell you, did I he’s below zero and you know how long that takes so let's get moving we’re losing time.” AJ says walking into the room

Everyone sits down and Azeal goes over the plan one last time, “Ok so we’re going through the tunnel behind my bed. Azeal moves the bed, then as we’re going through the tunnel to reach the front office’s door Jordan would have hijacked the cameras and glitched us out of them completely so we can get through the doors without being caught. Does everyone understand?” Azeal asks “Yes, here everyone take one so we can keep in contact.” Jordan says, giving everyone an earpiece.

As they started crawling through the tunnel, a little trouble arose, “Okay we’re almost through, how’s everything on your end Jordan?” “It’s fine- “Hey! Why aren’t you patrolling!” Damnit I gotta go, keep moving.” Static “Damnit alright everyone keeps moving not falter.” AJ commands, the other guard walks up to Jax and asks again, “I asked you a question.” “Huh sorry sir I didn’t hear you.” “Why aren’t you patrolling the building?” “I’m watching this room. A few of the testers wanted to sleep over so I’m patrolling them to make sure they don’t do anything heheh.” Jax says nervously “Okay son calm down. Keep up the good work let me know if anything turns up.” The Guard says patting Jax’s shoulder, “Yes sir.” Jax says as the guard leaves “Okay everything is clear Jordan, connect back into comms.” Jax says in relief, comms connect back “Jordan! Are you there?” Azeal whispers loudly, static static “Y-yea I’m back and the cameras are altered that was a close call though.” Jordan replies “I gotta figure out how we’re...” Jordan thought to himself.

They make it to the end of the tunnel and close to the doors... But then.

Crawl crawl “Okay guys this is the home stretch.” AJ whispers with relief “YES!!!” Everyone whispers loudly “Azeal, AJ I'm coming through the tunnel now I’ll see you guys by the door.” Jordan says putting away his materials and entering the tunnel. “Hey letting every guard know that we’re having a sleepover in room 1276. One girl and four guys keep an eye on them.” Handheld transceiver radios. “Roger.” a guard passing by replies, “What time is it right now?” AJ mumbles to himself as he checks the clock, “DAMNIT! Everyone stay calm. We’re a few minutes away from round patrols. We’re gonna have to hurry.” AJ states, everyone’s heart starts to race. As they make it to the doors and are about to open them “HEY YOU FIVE AREN’T YOU SUPPOSED TO BE IN YOUR ROOMS!?!?!” A guard yells before sprinting towards them “EVERY GUARD WE HAVE ESCAPEES!!!”

Alarms spill through the halls, doors open and other patients start running, Guards rush to try to contain them but get overpowered and then BANG BANG the ring of gunshots echo through the calls and into the chaos. The five make it out the door and make it to a car...

The five rush to the car. “GET IN NOW!!!” AJ and Azeal yell through the chaos barely being heard. Everyone rushes into the car; Jordan turns the keys VVVV tum VVVV tum “FUCK THE CAR WON’T START!!!” Jordan exclaims in panic... but just them as if a stroke of pure luck “I can help with that.” ??? says before touching the car and making it start, “Thank you- BANG! The girl dies in front of Jordan’s face. “FLORE IT NOOOW!!!” AJ yells in pure panic and horror.

And now we’re all caught up and let’s proceed to where we started the story.

Everyone leaves the car, “WHAT JUST HAPPENED THAT WASN’T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN!!!” DJ yells, panicking and spiraling, “I don’t know but I believe we’ll find out eventually.” Nellius said while waiting in the doorway, “Here take this good shit Jordan.” Nellius says as he tosses a bottle of water, Jordan catches it and takes a sip “Thanks man.” Jordan replies, “Calm down DJ everything will be ok.” Nellius states seriously “How’d you get here Nellius?” Azeal asks in confusion, Nellius teleports in front of Azeal “Does that answer your question bro.” Nellius said arms crossed.
