THE FORBIDDEN: HIM

It is a known fact that we girls gets fascinated by that one thing that is forbidden. That one thing that is bad news, no good and can destroy. The more they say, the more curious and fascinated we get. But in my case, it was not a it,it was a him.

My name is Adora, I believed my life was almost perfect. I had mom and dad's love,went to the best school in the country,had a normal social life, people said I was cute, and about my grades... well that's a story for another time. I had a totally normal, I felt nothing could ever go wrong since my life was not totally perfect. I had my personal problems but I was totally cool with those. But that wasn't always the case.

"Avis Athur" was all over the social media that I got sick of hearing the name. All girls online crushed on him, I checked some of his post and he had over a million likes. I didn't get to examine his face because most of his pics I saw had most part of his face covered. I was still checking his wall out when mom bumped into my room and told me it was time to sleep, then she took my phone and I went to sleep.

Tbh, I never really cared about who he was or why he was so popular. Other than grades, school was perfect. I had amazing friends: Soph,Liz and Elisa. I had some few other friends but they're more of acquaintances. Soph was nice and soft, Liz was the classy and most out going one, Elisa is just a girl with characteristics in between that of Liz and Soph but was obsessed with music. Don't get it wrong, we're nothing close to being the queen bees, not at all. I got a text from dad but wasn't able to read it cause the girls came to me. Parents acts strange at times, I had like a billion question but was not even allowed to ask about one. To be honest, I didn't really know why my parents were so strange. Back to the girls, they asked if I'll make it to the party we were invited to. But I made up an excuse to decline, just like the previous hangouts. Well you'll soon find out my reasons for declining. I felt like a genius for being able to make up such a brilliant excuse that I almost forgot I was.., you know .. dumb, until I read dad's message

" Your tutor just told me he tried everything but your grades are not improving." Dad sent hours before.

I got home to see mom and dad in the living,and mom looks so devastating. She was hyperventilating and was totally restless, dad stood beside her trying to calm her down. On entering,I heard mom say stuff like

" They are here to destroy us"

" Elmond, they came back to destroy us."

Then I said, worried:

" Mom... Dad.. what's going on?" That was when my presence was noticed. They were reluctant to tell me,dad asked if I remembered the rumours about our family ( I was shocked, I was never allowed to pay attention to it), but that day he confirmed it to be true. And for the first time dad told me in detail about it. A man named Salvador assaulted mom long before mom and dad got married. Salvador's current wife, who was my dad's ex-wife, Ariet by name, took 50% of dad's wealth when she divorced dad. Salvador only spent six months in jail because he had both political and social influence. There was no justice for mom.

It turned out that the popular "Athur Avis" was Salvador's son. He was transferred to my school and their family moved into the neighborhood, not same street but same estate.

STAY AWAY FROM 'AVIS'"

was the new theme at home. Dad got me bodyguards and one of them was to drive me around, while the others were to follow me around like a shadow, more like a plague. One day, class was insanely boring so I escaped. I went walking down the hallway when I bumped into the principal and a guy, probably a new student, both coming from the direction of the office. I was lost gazing at the guy, analysing his almost perfect features that I had forgot what I was up to and the fact that I could be in a really serious trouble for skipping class again. He was the perfect definition of charming, his hazel brown eyes looks so captivating but yet mysterious at the same time, his eyes caught mine yet I can't read through him, his face was perfectly expressionless and blank, it's hard to guess what he might be thinking. He looked at me in a mysterious way that only did nothing but confused me more, like he was trying to read through me or analyse me. He had a slightly red hair which was perfectly curled in a trendy way, a complexion that shines like that of the sun, a pointed noise, perfectly carved jawline like that of .....

" Miss Davis, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in class?" The principal said snapping me out of my daydream while the guy beside him just smirked.

Geez, I was in trouble, again, for the same reason, I thought to myself as I was mentally searching for reasons I could make up.

" Sir, ehm.. I... Uhmm.. I ..was.." I was inventing when he cut in

" Forgot it, I'll just give you a task." The principal said

And I made a mental " just kill me, just kill me.... 😭😭😭" His tasks had never been easy, they were mostly almost impossible or humiliating. I was hoping the old man would not humiliate me right in front of the drop dead gorgeous guy.

" I need you to take this young sir over here round the school" he said, I was relieved a little because of how lucky I was to get such a light task and was a little flattered by the idea that I could have a chance to be close to the guy I was just admiring a while ago, I might have blushed a little ☺️☺️, then the principal continued

"Let me introduce you to sir 'Arthur Avis', he's the new transfer student here." He said and I mentally screamed 'oh no'
