Summary
When conquerors destroy Fayrin’s home, she expects to die fighting. Instead, she is taken prisoner—and finds unlikely protection in Grady, an enemy lieutenant whose army slaughtered her people. Forced together by captivity, cultural differences, and a language neither fully understands, hatred slowly becomes something far more dangerous. But Grady is still a conqueror, Fayrin is still his prisoner, and choosing each other may demand more than either is prepared to sacrifice. Their attraction grows under the shadow of conquest, but the choice between love and loyalty becomes impossible to avoid.
