Episode 1 - The Lonely God
Author's Note: (yes you can skip this lol.)
Thank you, truly, for taking the time to step into the beginning of this story with me. This is my first story, and it holds years of thought, imagination, and pieces of my heart that I am finally brave enough to place into words. For so long, this world lived quietly in my mind, growing in the background like a little universe waiting for its first light. And now that I have begun writing it, the ideas have been flowing endlessly.
I have been creating constantly—sketching, writing, researching, dreaming, and building this adventure piece by piece. It feels as though one idea opens the door to another, and then another, until suddenly there is an entire world waiting to be discovered.
To anyone who has ever wanted to write, create, or bring something from your imagination into the world, I hope this reminds you not to give up. Your ideas matter, even when they are messy, unfinished, or only written in the corners of a notebook. I have three notebooks filled with fragments, characters, places, and possibilities, and even then, this still feels like only the beginning. There is so much more waiting ahead in this adventure.
But first, as all great stories do, we must begin at the beginning.
This is the start of my story—the very, very beginning of it all. Much like our own Genesis.

In the boundless dark, millions of stars stretched farther than any eye could follow. Deep space was magnificent, breathing with colorful gases that curled through glittering nebulas like painted smoke. The universe was new, vast, and alive with immense amounts of raw energy.
And it was creating.
Within one of those interstellar clouds of dust and gas, a clump began to grow and change, drawing heat into itself as though answering an ancient command. The universe poured its essence into that gathering mass. In time, the clump absorbed enough. Its core climbed to soaring temperatures and ignited into nuclear fusion, revealing a star set aflame for eons—
A Sun star.
With time, this newborn sun pulled in drifting debris and, bit by bit, shaped nine planets from the chaos around it. Together, these celestial bodies moved in harmony, bound to the Sun by an unseen order. The source of all this energy, or "magic," was an enormous mass of pure creation, illuminated in white light, with flickers of color radiating outward into the endless dark. This great mass was far larger than the Sun. And it was called:
The Great Universal Flow.
It was a culmination of raw space, the place where all energy flowed from and where all energy would one day return. In this vast expanse of a newborn solar system, the Flow released its first "lives," or, better explained, beings of harmony. It released nine souls formed from the Flow itself. This was the first moment consciousness had stirred within creation, though it remained a mystery whether the Flow possessed a consciousness of its own, or why it chose to create the things it did.
These nine "souls" then took hold of one planet each, and each world began to change beneath the weight of its spirit. Their atmospheres became wild, charged by the power resting within them. The celestial beings settled after filling themselves within the planets, and there they lay dormant.
And for what purpose? They did not know. The Flow did not speak. All they understood was that they protected the Flow and would be called upon when the appointed time arrived. What seemed like millennia passed before that time came for one of the nine spirits.
The smallest of them awoke first, surrounded by the gleam of distant stars, shimmering gas clouds, and the other eight planets sleeping in solemn silence.
"Mhhhm..." the Spirit groaned, noticing his voice echo throughout space.
"Ahh..." He let out another sound, surprised. The Spirit sensed around himself and noticed the Flow. Feeling its warmth, he smiled.
"Come..." said a voice, low and ancient, vibrating through the depths of his consciousness. It was the Flow that had spoken. The Spirit made his way closer and placed himself before the swirling source of lights.
"Form..." whispered the Flow. Suddenly, colors of every shade began illuminating from the Spirit, spilling from him like dawn breaking across the void.
When the light cleared, the Spirit had formed a humanoid body with two arms and two legs. His form was no longer a sphere of raw soul-light. The young God looked down at himself, staring at his fingers and toes with quiet wonder before lifting his gaze back to the Flow, still trying to understand what he had become.
"Why am I awake?" "...The others?"
"You.." replied the Flow slowly.
"...Just me?" he asked, searching for an answer that would not come. Why not the others? Why him? Why now? Was something going to happen? Questions rose within him like sparks, but the Flow no longer spoke. He blinked a few times, confused and unsatisfied. His eyes shifted from one planet to the next, each holding one of the other sleeping Spirits within it. Then he turned toward the world where he had once rested. It was smaller than most of the others.
'Just like me,' the God thought to himself.
He had no idea what he was meant to do, nor why he alone had been awakened. More than anything, he wished the Flow would answer him. It had given him form, yet left him with no purpose he could understand.
The young God tried to find things to do now that he was no longer lying dormant. He helped energy flow to and from the great mass. He balanced the unfinished reaches of space and mended stars on the edge of bursting. A great deal of time passed with him doing this alone.

Silence ruled all of space. The only sounds the God heard were the occasional crashes of debris and asteroids striking one another, or the thunderous pop of stars imploding before they burst. Slowly, the loneliness began to crush him. He had been given a voice, yet nothing ever answered. The stars did not speak. The space rocks did not vocalize. Nothing around him held consciousness, nothing carried a voice, and the absence became maddening. The God tried many times to speak to the dormant planets, but no reply came from their sleeping depths. He also pleaded with the Flow countless times, but it remained quiet. The God wanted to know more about himself and his role within the universe. He wanted proof that he was not alone in it. He detested the thought that this was what eternity would be for him. He shivered at the very idea.
More time passed, heavy and unmarked, until the young God had finally grown weary of enduring it. He made his way through space to where the Universal Flow lay. When he stood before the Source, he began to cry and plead in desperation.
"Why did you do this to me?" "Why have you cursed me to this solitude?" "Do I serve no purpose?" He screamed the last question, for that fear wounded him most. He feared that in this void, there was and always would be only him. He feared he was destined to fade away with time, knowing nothing else and never hearing another voice. The young God longed for more than mere existence. He felt there were countless experiences he had yet to understand, worlds of knowledge he had not touched, ways to grow that had not been opened to him. But there was no one, and nothing, around him.
"I—I just... do not want to be alone anymore..." the God admitted weakly, hanging his head in his hands as tears slipped down his glowing face.
"It is time..." said the familiar low voice. The God looked up, eyes wide. How long had he waited for this? For a response from his creator. And time?
"Oh, Creator, please tell me! What purpose do I have in this galaxy? Will you awaken my brothers—or my sisters—finally?" He tried to release every burning question at once, but the Flow sent a whip of light toward him, striking him on the forehead. He looked up in disbelief and hushed his mouth, rubbing the glowing mark on his face.
"Ready?" the Flow asked. The young God did not know what the question meant. He only knew he could not bear for all things to return to the way they had been.
That dreadful, eternal silence. He bit his lower lip and clenched his fist.
"Yes. I am ready," he answered, bowing down before the enormous mass and then rising back up.
"Begin." At that moment, the Flow shot a ray of white light into his chest, sending him hurtling backward through the dark toward his planet.
The Flow had gifted the lonely God with the power of creation. The power to create what we know to be 'life' here on Earth.
