The Doorstep
Jordan stood on the wide marble doorstep, suitcase clutched in one hand, the other hovering inches from the polished brass doorbell. The evening air in the city was thick and warm, nothing like the crisp chill of the village he’d left behind that morning. The house in front of him was intimidating-three stories of glass and sleek lines, glowing softly from within. It looked like something out of a magazine, not a place where someone like him belonged.
Five years.
Five whole years since he’d last seen Hazel.
They’d grown up together in the same small village, running wild through fields and sneaking out to the river at night. Hazel had always been the fearless one-beautiful even as a teenager, with sharp green eyes and a laugh that made everyone turn. After high school, she’d announced she was leaving for the city to model. Her rich parents never said no to her. Just like that, she was gone.
Jordan stayed. Finished community college, then slid into the rhythm of the family farm-endless days of dirt under his nails and the smell of earth in his clothes. It was safe. Familiar. Until his father sat him down one evening and said, “You’re wasting away here, son. Go to the city. Live a little.”
Word got around fast. Hazel’s parents heard. They called his father and offered the solution: Jordan could stay at Hazel’s house. She’d bought it herself with modeling money-a place far too big for one person. “He can stay as long as he needs,” they’d said.
Then Hazel called him herself. Her voice on the phone was warm, teasing, exactly how he remembered. “Come stay with me, Jordy. It’ll be fun. Like old times.”
His father had pressed a thick envelope of cash into his hand and practically pushed him onto the bus.
Now here he was, heart hammering, finger finally pressing the bell.
The door opened almost instantly.
Jordan’s breath caught.
Hazel stood there, barefoot, wearing a thin white tank top that clung to her body like it was painted on. No bra. Her breasts-full, heavy, impossibly perfect-strained against the fabric, nipples clearly outlined. Low-rise shorts rode dangerously low on her hips, showing off smooth tanned skin and the curve of her waist. Her hair fell in long, dark waves down her back, framing a face that had only grown more stunning with time.
She was breathtaking.
“Jordan!” she squealed, launching herself at him.
Her body slammed into his in a fierce hug, soft breasts pressing firmly against his chest, arms wrapping tight around his neck. She smelled like vanilla and something warmer, deeper. He hugged her back stiffly, hyper-aware of every inch of contact, heat flooding his face.
“You came,” she murmured into his shoulder, then pulled back, grinning. “Look at you. Still tall and handsome.”
He managed a weak laugh. “You... you look different.”
She smirked, glancing down at herself like she knew exactly what he meant. “City life agrees with me.”
She grabbed his suitcase and pulled him inside.
The house was stunning-high ceilings, polished hardwood floors, modern art on the walls. It smelled faintly of expensive candles and her perfume. They settled in the massive living room, sinking into a plush gray couch. For hours they talked-laughing over childhood memories, the time they got caught stealing apples, the village dances, old crushes. Hazel was vibrant, animated, leaning forward as she spoke, her top gaping slightly, offering glimpses that made Jordan shift and cross his legs.
Eventually, she showed him to the guest bedroom downstairs-big bed, private bath, everything spotless.
“Make yourself at home,” she said, winking. “I might be out late sometimes. Don’t wait up.”
Later that evening, as the sun dipped low, Hazel appeared in the doorway of his room, now dressed for going out-a tight black dress that hugged every curve, heels that made her legs look endless.
“I’m heading to a club with friends,” she said, checking her phone. “Have whatever you want in the kitchen. Seriously-don’t wait for me.”
He nodded, trying to act casual. “Have fun.”
She flashed a smile and was gone.
Jordan ate a quiet dinner alone in the huge kitchen, then retreated to his room. Exhaustion from the long day pulled him into sleep fast.
Sometime deep in the night, a sound woke him-soft laughter, footsteps on the stairs, the click of heels.
He cracked his bedroom door open and peered into the dim hallway.
Hazel was there, arm linked with a stunning blonde woman in a short red dress. Both were tipsy, giggling quietly as they climbed the stairs. Hazel’s hand rested low on the woman’s back, fingers tracing slow circles.
Jordan’s pulse raced. He watched until they vanished upstairs, the door to Hazel’s bedroom closing softly.
He shut his door and slid back into bed, staring at the ceiling.
Minutes passed. Then it started.
Soft at first-a muffled gasp, a low moan. Then another voice, breathy and pleading. The sounds grew rhythmic, unmistakable. Women’s voices, tangled in pleasure.
Jordan lay frozen in the dark, body tense, listening.
What the hell had Hazel become?
