THE VOICE OF SILENCE

A voice on stage that speaks to all,

Yet echoes settle deep in me.

The laughter rising through the hall

Conceals what no one dares to see.

A single life… with double faces,

Smiles outside, within — decay.

Feelings burn in hidden places,

Till fire resigns to ash and grey.

They say, “Be real, let yourself be known,”

Yet truth still trembles, stays concealed.

A face that aches to stand alone,

Remains behind what’s never revealed.

The voice falls quiet… yet speaks within,

Where darker shades begin to rise.

A heart that shelters nameless sins,

Behind unspoken lies.

A house untouched by any light,

Where feelings breathe but never show.

One gate that guards it, sealed tight,

Known only to what lies below.

Once warm, these echoes turned to cold,

Silence now their only friend.

Every story left untold,

Every message never sent.

And all they’ve ever truly heard…

Was never said… yet still endured.

LINES OF CODE , FLAVORS OF FATE

Fiona Walker: First of all I have to say that I really enjoyed this short story. I did find the single line paragraphs a little uncomfortable to read as it didn’t flow but the content was amusing and sweet. For me, the ending didn’t feel like an ending, it just stopped. I understand the implication of the final c...

Cross The Line

samcam13: I loved these guys so much (and Vincent, Granger, the coach). It’s always so impressive when an author can make you love a character who only has a single scene or few lines, but that happened here I think. Writing was sweet or spicy in the right spots, and most of the time both. Loved the portrayal...
