I was so excited,as I got into the plane with my fellow applicants.

It was still like a dream when I applied for the scholarship my mom had doubts about it but here I was now on a plane heading to New York City the land of my dreams,what could possibly be better than this.

Throughout the flight I was so excited, the person beside me was snoring lightly beside what sort of person would be sleeping on a plane I mean the view is breathtaking,and then the food served on the plane is simply divine.

Ok,my name is Rena Ayomide Utokanandu,I am from Nigeria,and yes I am from two different tribes a part Yoruba and a part Igbo I like to call myself a tribal half cast,I know I'm exaggerating but still allow a girl to live for God's sake.

I applied for a scholarship program in NYU trust me when I say I read till my eyes bled,but here I am right now in New York on my way to NYU yay. A really fancy car who am I kidding I called a cab and headed to NYU.

I got down from the cab and made my way towards the school administrative office but it wasn't as hectic and stressful as I thought it would be turns out everything had being taken care of I was given my room number and key I did a silent prayer in my heart please Lord,may my roomie be nice I read a lot of novels where the roommate is an asshole or a jackass I know they end up falling in love but still

I found my room thirty minutes of walking around aimlessly I got a chance to look around but it was still so much work I just hope my roomie is a clean freak because I am one messy person.

I finally got to my room and the door was unlocked looks like my roomie is already there how convenient ugh I knocked just to be polite and went in they were to girls in the room one of them had black hair and her skin was like melted gold wow she's definitely a black no doubts but damnn, the other was a blonde she looked classy and all that stuff I just hope she isn't a bitch I hate it when people don't like me all my life there is this energy I carry people just love me instantly I have met a few people that a immune to my charms it never ended well trust me.

"Hi" the blonde said waving at me I smiled back she doesn't sound like a bitch that's a relief, she walked across the room and held out her hand for a shake " I'm Deborah,nice to meet you"

I took her hand and smiled " I'm Rena, likewise "

The dark skinned goddess came to me next smiling and displaying the beautiful set of white teeth ohh my God I am considering changing my sexuality now . " Hi I'm Alexa, but you can all my Lex "

I took her hand and it was so soft I'm still straight right?

"Ok let's unpack and go for a little tour around campus" Deborah said

" Deal, I can't wait to get around " Lex squealed looking very much excited I chuckled lightly I think we'll get along pretty well

" Are you coming? " Deborah asked me looking at me

" Yh, sure why not " I said trying to act cool and not to embarrass myself they were two rooms and each had two beds and it was really spacious I liked the interior of the room it was pretty and it looked like someone was already in the room I saw posters and some bags by the right side of the room I dropped my bags on my side of the room and poked my head outside and saw Deborah on the mini couch scrolling through her phone, "Umm Deborah?"

She looked up at me "You know you can just call me Debby right ?"

"Yh sorry, is there another person I am to meet ?" I asked

"Ohh sorry I and my twin got the same room, I'm sure you'll meet him soon" I stared at her ohh God may he not be a jackass please Debby chuckled at my facial expression

"You have nothing to worry about, he's super nice" I let out a sigh of relief she laughed at me," I think you'll be fine"

By the time I was done with the room arrangement Debby and Lex were already dressed up I wore a crop top and high jeans trouser I don't do make up unless it's necessary and I do not see this as necessary so I went bare faced .

Lex hooked her hand with I and Debby's as we walked to a really nice coffee shop the outer part of the cafe was beautiful but then the interior oh my God it was heavenly.

We settled down, looking through menus when A really hot guy walked In I for one always thought the novels I read was simply exaggerating but this guy looked like he just walked out of one of them I looked at him and looked away quickly not wanting to seem like a total creep of sort.

"Hey, Princess" He said sitting next to me , Debby rolled her eyes at him "Stop calling me that, you know I hate when you call me that "

"Ok fine " he said raising his hand up in mock surrender Lex chuckled at both of them, I blocked my face with the menu trying as hard as I can to focus on ordering and not on the super hot guy sitting next to me

"Hey beautiful" At first I thought he was talking to Lex but turns out he was talking to me I didn't know what to say I mean my best friend back in school always told me I was beautiful but I never seemed to believe it my family always called me ugly and stuff even though I attract a whole lot of men to myself.

"Hi" I said awkwardly I really need to get a grip here so it turns out I'm still straight if this guy can move me like this I am definitely still straight but I could be bi oh no my mom is so going to kill me if she finds out .

"I'm Delvin by the way" he said holding his hand out to me I took it "the twin of this princess next to me "

"Ugh" Debby groaned "I hate you "

"I think you mean the opposite princess"

I chuckled he looked at me again "What's your name beautiful?"

"Rena" I said smiling at him I guess he isn't that bad , "Wow your name is beautiful and then you're beautiful can this get any better for you"

I smiled wider and turned my face away to hide a blush that was creeping in slowly

"She's your roommate" Debby said , he smiled genuinely at me and said "Oh my this is truly lovely"

"So what do you want to order Rena" Lex asked looking away from the menu in her hand

I sighed " I have no idea, I mean I want to try new things but I still want something pleasant , something that's not Nigerian"

They all looked at me shocked, I knew this was going to be their reaction if they get to know about my Nationality but I just had to get it out of my chest plus they were going to find out soon enough ,After a while Delvin clears his throat and the others recover from their mini shock

"But the way you speak doesn't sound Nigerian" Delvin seemed to have voiced their thoughts cause they nodded to his words . I smiled happy they aren't treating me weirdly.

"I think I'm going to blame that on Nickelodeon and the books I read" I said with a shrug people back home were always so jealous of my accent while some loved me for it

"So you're saying that you've never being to the states and you speak this fluently" Delvin sounded pretty shocked

I smiled sadly " My family can't even afford a flight to the next state in my country" Their eyes widened even more I thought it was going to pop.

Lex and Debby seemed to have more questions when the waiter came to us. She was wearing a shirt and a short skirt her buttons were open and her breasts were sticking out her skirt was pretty short too but the apron she was wearing covered most of her leg Lex looked at her like she did something bad to her,in the books I've read this sort of people wanted to flirt with a guy then I knew she wanted to simply flirt with Delvin,Debby was also glaring at the waitress Delvin was even looking her way he was looking at the menu in my hand.

" Not yet" Debby said still glaring at her,the waitress glared back at her and turned to walk away " We would prefer another waiter to take our orders please " Lex called after her she glared at her and walked away to the counter

" Well since you haven't tasted good coffee, I'll order for you " Lex said I nodded in agreement

Another waiter came and I got a Cinnamon Dolce Latte with Extra Whipped Cream Lex ordered for me it was actually really good I liked it,I took another sip of the wonderful drink in my hand and got cream on my face Delvin laughed at me and took a sip of his own making a moustache and talking in a very awkward french accent I laughed and made a British accent. They all stared at me again with shocked faces again it's becoming sort of funny them looking at me like that.

"Your British accent is wonderful how ?!!!" Debby said looking so shocked,I chuckled at her facial expression.

"I'll blame that on Joseph Morgan in Vampire diaries and the Bridgertons" I said looking at Delvin who looks like is going to explode anytime soon.

"You learnt an accent that good from a tv show?" Lex said looking at me like I was lying which I certainly was not doing we continued talking I was so much fun then a call from my mom came in I smiled widely.

"Guys, my mom's calling" I said they looked at me and smiled Delvin said I should take it he would love to see the woman that made me I laughed at him and picked the call it was a video call when I took the call my mom's face was bright with a smile we talked for a while then I informed her that I made friends with my roommates and they would love to talk to her my mom was a teacher so I don't have to worry about their conversation not going smoothly,They talked for a very long time and she filling them in with details about me embarrassing one's included after the third story I took my phone from them and bade my mom bye .

"Your mom's pretty cool" Delvin said smiling I smiled back "ohh can I get her number so she could tell me more stories about you" Lex chirped in

" Absolutely not " I shouted,Debby chuckled at my expression

" Ugh You're no fun" Lex said feigning disappointment

" I like to keep it that way thank you very much " I said quickly we left the cafe after an hour and headed back to the dorm .

" So I got an invite to a party you guys wanna come ?" Delvin said after a while of relaxing

" Hell yeah" Lex said from the couch where she was lying down with her head on Debby's lap

"Yh sure why not" Debby said with her hand in Lex's hair then they all looked back at me I know I wanted to make the most of my years in New York but still I don't just feel like going out now when I didn't say anything for a while Debby spoke up

"You know there's no way in hell we're leaving without you right ?" She stated in a matter of factly tone I knew I wasn't going to get out of this one .
