Chapter 12:THE DREAMS I REFUSED TO GIVE UP ON

There were times when I wondered whether some of my dreams were simply too far away.I had imagined a different life for myself. A life where I had a stable job, my own income, confidence in myself, and the freedom to make decisions about my future. But life had not followed the plan I had created in my mind. There were delays. There were disappointments. There were moments when I felt like everyone else was moving forward while I was standing in the same place.Still, something inside me refused to give up.Even when I felt discouraged, I knew there were dreams I had not finished dreaming.I wanted to work again.I wanted to become financially independent and know that I could provide for myself. I wanted to wake up knowing that I was building something instead of constantly worrying about what tomorrow would bring.I also wanted to keep writing. When I started putting my experiences into words, I discovered something unexpected. My story did not feel as heavy when I wrote it down. The things I had once kept inside could become words on a page. And those words could become something bigger than my pain.Maybe one day someone would read my story and recognize themselves in it.Maybe someone who felt alone would realize they were not the only one struggling.Maybe someone who had lost hope would find a small reason to keep going. That thought gave me courage.I began to understand that dreams do not always disappear when life becomes difficult.Sometimes they simply wait for us to find the strength to return to them.I still had many things I wanted to accomplish.I wanted to grow.I wanted to learn.I wanted to work.I wanted to write.I wanted to become the woman I had always imagined myself becoming. And I wanted my family to see me succeed.I knew I could not change everything overnight. So I decided to focus on one step at a time. One application. One opportunity. One page. One chapter. One day. That was enough.I stopped comparing my timeline with everyone else's.Someone else's success did not mean I was failing.Someone else's journey did not mean mine was behind. My life was moving at its own pace. And perhaps the most important thing was that I was still moving.I still had hope.I still had dreams. And as long as I had those things, I had a reason to keep going.I don't know exactly where these dreams will take me.But I know I am not ready to give up on them. Not yet.Maybe not ever.Because sometimes the dreams that survive our hardest seasons become the ones that matter most. And I am determined to give mine another chance.
