Summary

Lucien Aren Aberyn never dreamed of becoming a legend. Talented but unnoticed, Lucien has always preferred to stay out of the spotlight, observing the world around him and adapting to whatever challenges come his way. With a sharp mind, natural charisma, and an uncanny ability to understand people, he hides far more potential than anyone realizes. When Lucien transfers to the prestigious Aurelia Academy, he expects nothing more than a normal student life filled with training, friendships, and perhaps a few interesting adventures. Instead, he awakens a mysterious System and discovers that his soul is sharing a body with an ancient entity known only as Old Man. Old Man is no ordinary being. Possessing centuries of knowledge, terrifying power, and a sarcastic personality that constantly tests Lucien's patience, he becomes Lucien's teacher, guide, and unlikely companion. But the secrets surrounding his existence are far deeper than Lucien could have imagined. As Lucien navigates an academy filled with prodigies, nobles, powerful bloodlines, and future heroes, he begins uncovering forgotten histories and forces that have remained hidden for centuries. Along the way, he forms an unlikely friendship with Odin Cromwell, his eccentric and powerful dormmate, while Noelle Elarion, a kind-hearted girl with a mysterious potential of her own, slowly becomes someone far more important to him than he ever expected. But Aurelia Academy is not as safe as it appears. Ancient enemies are moving in the shadows, forgotten truths are beginning to surface, and the powers surrounding Lucien are slowly awakening. Lucien never wanted to become a legend. But sometimes, legends aren't chosen. They are forged through the choices they make, the battles they survive, and the people they refuse to abandon.

Aurelia Academy

"Ah..." Lucien let out a long sigh, leaning back with a tired expression. His eyebrows lowered slightly as he looked at his mother.

"But do I really have to change schools?"

"Yes Lucien, you have to." His mother gave him a knowing look. "You know Vaelith and Solvian finished there."

Lucien's eyes narrowed slightly. He crossed his arms and looked away with a small frown. "And what of it?" he replied. "Big Sis Miravane didn't".

An annoying laugh echoed inside is head.

"Using your sister as a counter-arguement. How clever."

Of course he had to comment.

Lucien's eyes twitched.

'You know, sometimes I forget how annoying you are.'

'Impossible. I remind you daily.' the voice said with a tone laced with sarcasm

'Stay the hell out of this.' Lucien said mentally.

"Tsskk..... You're no fun," Old Man replied internally, his voice carrying a smug amusement. "It still doesn't change the fact that you are going".

Lucien's expression stiffened for a moment. He kept his face calm but inside his mind, he could already feel the Old Man's teasing presence.

Lucien Aberyn, the fourth and last child of the Aberyn family. As a nonchalant genius who hates being the center of attention, he hides his capabilities even to his family, only known to the Old Man. The Old Man has been in Lucien since birth, as for why, he doesn't even know. And it has been an interesting journey for both partners.

Aurelia Academy.

A place where young minds gathered from corners of the world. Unlike the grand castles of ancient kingdoms or the battlefields where warriors proved their strength, Aurelia Academy was a place of preparation.

The academy stood on a vast piece of land surrounded by forests, mountains, and a clear blue lake. Its main building was an enormous structure built with white stone and decorated with golden patterns, giving it an elegant yet welcoming appearance.

But Aurelia wasn't your average ancient high school. It was a symbol of an era where magic and technology existed together.

Behind its beautiful walls were advanced systems powered by both mana and modern engineering. Students trained with traditional weapons, magical abilities, and advanced equipment designed to help reach their potential.

Aurelia accepts students from all backgrounds.

Because at Aurelia, one's origin mattered less than what they chose to become.

And now, Lucien Aberyn would step through its gates.....

And he wouldn't give a fuck.

NEXT DAY

Lucien stared at the massive gates of Aurelia Academy, taking in sight before him.

"So this is the proclaimed Aurelia Academy...." he muttered. A small smile appeared on his face. "Not bad."

'I was expecting more excitement from you. Though I suppose your attention is probably elsewhere.'

Lucien raised an eyebrow.

Old Man continued mentally.

'I hope they have some pretty girls here, you know. You're almost eighteen. You should experience life a little.'

Lucien's expression changed immediately.

"You're unbelievable."

Inside his consciousness, Old Man gave a calm response.

'What? I am simply offering advice.'

"I wonder what kind of man you were in your days."

A brief silence followed.

Then Old Man replied. '.....A very respectable one.'

Lucien looked unconvinced. "Pervert."

Old Man sounded offended within his mind. 'How rude. I was a gentleman.'

"That's exactly what a pervert would say."

He let out an offended smile in Lucien's mind. 'The youth of today have no appreciation for wisdom.'

Lucien walked through the dormitory halls of Aurelia Academy, carrying his belongings while observing his new surroundings. The dormitory was more modern than he expected. The rooms were connected by clean corridors, with advanced systems built into the walls alongside the academy's elegant design.

"Not bad." Lucien muttered.

He stopped in front of his assigned room and checked the number.

Room 214

Taking a breath, he opened the door.

Inside he saw someone else,

A young man with messy dark hair was sitting on one the beds, looking through a device in his hand. He looked up the moment Lucien entered. For a moment, the two stared at each other.

Then the boy smiled. "You're probably my roommate."

Lucien looked around the room. "Looks like it."

"Good," The boy stood up, stretched and walked towards Lucien. "I was starting to think I'd get stuck with someone boring."

"Well, I think lady luck answered your prayers. You've got the right guy." Lucien replied as he flashed a smile.

The boy stared at Lucien for a moment before bursting into laughter. "Hahaha. You're funny, I like it."

He walked closer with an amusing grin.

"Although... you seem perfectly calm. Aren't supposed to be ecstatic? It's your first day at Aurelia Academy."

Lucien looked around the room casually, then back at him.

"Nah. I'm used to pressure."

A huge grin spread across Lucien's face as he continued. "Besides... I like being pressured."

The boy raised an eyebrow. "Now aren't you the scary one?". He laughed again and extended his hand.

"Name's Odin. Odin Cromwell."

Lucien looked at his hand before shaking it.

"Lucien Aberyn."
