Element's Secret

Nobody had powers.

At least, that's what everyone believed.

In their world, elemental powers weren't something people were born knowing how to use. They appeared when an element chose you.

And nobody knew when that would happen.

Katherine was the first one to discover her powers... one of the most dangerous one FIRE

The levels would begin at Level One.

And Level One was nothing compared to what katherine could eventually become.

Across town a girl named Clara was walking back home to school

She was walking past the town fountain when she suddenly stopped.

The water inside the fountain began moving on its own.

Clara stared at it.

“Uh… what?”

The water slowly rose from the fountain, floating in the air.

Clara looked around, confused.

“Why is this happening?”

Before she could do anything, she heard someone behind her.

“Clara?”

She turned around.

A person she had never seen before was standing there, holding a piece of paper.

“Is that you?”

“...Yes?”

They walked over and handed her the paper.

Clara looked down.

It was an application.

ELEMENT SCHOOL — STUDENT APPLICATION

She looked back up.

“Element School?”

“Fill it out and bring it to the school.”

Clara blinked.

“But… why me?”

The person simply smiled.

“You'll find out soon.”

And before Clara could ask anything else, they walked away.

Clara stared at the application.

“What did I just get myself into?”

Clara reached home and immediately grabbed her phone.

She called her friends.

“Guys, something really weird just happened.”

Arthur answered first. “What happened?”

“The fountain. The water just rose by itself.”

There was a pause.

“...Wait.”

Clara frowned. “What?”

“I think I can do that too.”

“What?!”

Arthur held out his hand.

A thin layer of ice suddenly formed across his palm.

Everyone on the call went silent.

“WHAT THE—”

“YOU HAVE POWERS TOO?!”

“I don't even know how this happened!” Arthur said, staring at his hand.

Another friend quickly joined in.

“Wait, wait, wait! I got something too!”

“What element?”

“Earth!”

They all started talking at once.

“I thought I was the only one!”

“When did yours start?”

“Mine happened yesterday!”

“I thought I was imagining it!”

Clara looked at the application sitting on the table.

“Guys…”

Everyone stopped.

“I just got this application for an Element School.”

Silence.

“...You got one too?”

“Yeah.”

“So did I.”

“And me.”

They stared at each other through the call, completely confused.

“Why are we all getting powers at the same time?”

Nobody had an answer.

Then Clara looked down at the mysterious application again.

“Maybe… the school knows.”

The call went quiet.

“Then I guess we're going to find out.”

Later morning....

Clara yells:MOM

Clara's Mom: what happened sweetie

Clara explains to her what happens and hopes she'll support her

Clara's mom says in anger: WHAT?? You are a disgrace to our family GET OUT OF MY HOUSE

Clara's emotions are mixed she didn't want to harm her mother with her powers so she left

Clara ran down the street as a tear dropped down from her chin

Arthur:clara what happened why are you crying?

Clara: I don't wanna talk about it but let's go

Clara eventually hides her emotions from the rest of the group

                 AT THE ELEMENTAL SCHOOL

Clara finally arrived at the Element School.

She stood outside the huge gates, looking at the strange, unfamiliar building.

Everything seemed completely normal.

She reached for the gate.

Then—

“Wait… what?”
