Chapter 1
Dev stepped into the village, dust rising around his shoes as he looked at the empty streets. He had dreamt of a chicken for as long as he could remember — a simple dream, but impossible in a place where chickens were banned.
“How can I not find a chicken inside a village?” he muttered, frustrated. Every house, every shop, every farm… nothing. Not even a feather.
His plan stayed stuck in his mind like glue: Go to another country. Get a chicken. Bring it back. Raise it.
His family saw how badly he wanted it. They didn’t understand the dream, but they understood Dev. So they agreed — anything to make him happy.
The next morning, Dev packed his small bag. Outside, the world was covered in SATFAS — Division 24 posters. Warnings. Announcements. Threats. Chickens illegal. Chickens dangerous. Chickens forbidden.
Dev ignored all of it. He climbed into the car, and his dad started the engine. The journey to break the country’s oldest political rule had begun.
