Episode 1: The Woman Everyone Fears
Written by: Elora Noir
A freezing night in Moscow, Russia. Outside, the snow fell relentlessly, blanketing the city in white. Inside his luxurious penthouse office, Victor Orlov, one of the city's most powerful tycoons, paced back and forth frantically. Cold sweat beaded on his forehead. Countless files lay scattered across his mahogany desk.
Suddenly, the heavy door swung open, and a security guard stepped inside. His voice trembled uncontrollably.
"Sir... she has arrived."
Victor’s face instantly drained of color. "Who...?"
The guard swallowed hard, his throat dry. "Aria Voss."
The moment the name was uttered, the air in the room seemed to freeze solid. Victor sank heavily into his leather chair, his knees giving out. "Impossible..."
A few seconds later, the door pushed open with a slow, deliberate creak. A young woman stepped into the room, clad in a long, midnight-black trench coat. Her eyes were calm, yet piercingly sharp. Her face held no expression, but her sheer presence commanded instant, absolute silence from everyone in the room.
This was Aria Voss. Renowned worldwide as a brilliant surgeon, she lived a double life as a legendary underground detective. She was the kind of person whose very name made criminals—and underworld mafia lords alike—lose their sleep.
Aria closed the distance between them, each of her calculated steps radiating a cold aura of terror.
"Mr. Orlov." Her voice was smooth as velvet, yet cold as ice.
Victor asked in a shaky, breathless voice, "Why... why are you here, Miss Voss?"
Aria’s gaze shifted to a specific folder on the desk. "Because you are lying."
The room fell dead silent. Victor’s throat went dry. "I... I don't understand what you mean."
Aria let out a soft, humorless chuckle. There was no warmth in it—only a twisted sense of amusement. She picked up an expensive fountain pen from the desk. Twirling it slowly between her slender fingers, she stepped uncomfortably close to Victor. The scent of her expensive, intoxicating perfume mingled with the raw scent of his fear, creating a suffocating atmosphere.
"Three days ago, you told the police that your company's highly classified data was stolen."
"Y-Yes."
"And yet, the premium ink stains are still fresh on your right index finger, Mr. Orlov." Aria used the tip of the fountain pen to tilt Victor’s chin upward, forcing him to look directly into her bottomless, dark eyes. "A thief didn't steal your data. You hid the blackmail file yourself, and you have already sold it on the black market for a fortune."
Everyone in the room stood paralyzed. No one could comprehend how she had unraveled the entire conspiracy in a matter of seconds.
"Your lie was pathetic," Aria stated coldly.
Victor couldn't utter a single word of defense. Within minutes, the police entered the office. They asked no questions; they simply looked at Aria with absolute reverence. A high-ranking officer bowed his head respectfully. "Your information was flawless, Miss Voss."
Aria didn't bother to reply. She turned on her heel, adjusted her coat lapels, and walked out. To her, this case was insultingly simple—utterly beneath her intellect.
Hours later. The outskirts of Moscow. A massive, gothic estate stood tall against the dark night sky like a brooding king.
🏰 Blackrose Palace
The palace grounds were surrounded by a vast garden of blood-black roses. The cold wind made the dark petals sway gently amidst sharp thorns. The grand iron gates groaned open as a sleek, matte-black Lamborghini glided inside. Stepping out of the car, Aria walked straight through the dimly lit, cavernous corridors of the palace. The staff bowed low, pressing themselves against the walls to clear her path.
Suddenly, a tall, well-built silhouette stepped out from the shadows, blocking her way.
"Is the case closed?"
Aria stopped. The icy armor around her eyes seemed to thaw just a fraction at the sight of him, replaced by a sudden surge of a dangerous, forbidden intensity.
"Ethan," Aria whispered.
Ethan Raven. Aria’s most trusted ally, her right hand. He was the only man alive who did not fear Aria Voss; instead, he harbored a dark, obsessive desire to possess her completely.
Aria stepped closer, leaving barely inches of breathing room between them. Ethan’s gaze dropped to her lips for a fleeting second before locking onto her eyes again.
"It was too easy," Aria murmured.
Ethan smiled, a slow, dangerous smirk. His fingers reached out, brushing against her coat collar with a lingering touch. "Every mystery in this world is easy to you, Aria. But you... you are a labyrinth I have yet to conquer."
The suffocating, raw romantic tension between them seemed to make the surrounding darkness even heavier. Together, they began walking toward the palace library.
Suddenly, Ethan’s expression turned dead serious. He stepped ahead, pinning her against the corridor wall with one hand resting right above her waist—a dominant, deeply possessive gesture.
"We have a problem, Aria."
Aria didn't flinch. She stared back into his dark eyes, unfazed. "What is it?"
Ethan pulled a weathered, crimson envelope from his jacket and held it out. "This arrived this afternoon. For your eyes only."
Aria took the envelope. There was no sender's name. It bore only a single black symbol—a perfect circle with an open eye drawn in the center.
Aria’s pupils dilated. For the first time, her stoic, porcelain face hardened with gravity and a trace of dark excitement.
"Where did you find this?"
"Right outside the main gate, hidden in the black rose bushes," Ethan whispered, leaning close to her ear, his breath hot against her skin. "I don't know who dared to come here. But whoever it is, they are getting too close to you. And I don't tolerate anyone touching what is mine."
Aria slowly tore open the envelope. Inside was a single piece of parchment. Written in blood-red ink were the words—
"The Black File has awakened. And the Forgotten Palace is waiting."
The temperature in the room felt as though it instantly plummeted below zero. Ethan stared at Aria in silence, his hand gripping her shoulder tightly, a silent vow to shield her from the world, yet keep her trapped in his own cage.
Because Ethan knew—those two names belonged to a dark chapter of Aria’s past that no one had dared to whisper for years.
Aria slowly crumpled the paper in her fist. A dangerously beautiful, predatory glint appeared in her eyes, sending a thrill through Ethan’s veins.
"Finally, it begins..." Aria smirked.
At that exact moment, a deafening crack of thunder echoed in the distance, and an eerie, thrilling, and dangerous silence fell over Blackrose Palace.
