Before the night

By the time Maya and Kabir got home, neither of them had enough energy left to do anything.

It was Saturday evening, and after a long week, the apartment felt unusually quiet. Kabir kicked of his shoes near the door and dropped his keys near the small table beside it.

"I'm not moving for the rest of the night", he announced collapsing onto the sofa.

Maya looked at him.

"you said that last saturday"

"And i meant it"

"you got up twenty minutes later because you wanted ice cream

"That was an emergency"

Maya laughed and walked into the kitchen.

After four years together, she knew him well enough to know when he was actually tired and when he was just being dramatic.

Unfortunately for her, he knew her just as well.

"You're hungry," He called.

"Obviously I am"

"I knew it."

Maya opened the fridge and looked inside.

"There's nothing here."

"There's plenty."

"There's milk, vegetables and something I don't even remember buying"

Kabir got up from the sofa and joined her.

"Then let's order something."

"Finally a useful idea."

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me."

He shook his head, laughing.

"Okay what do you want?"

"I don't know."

"You just said you were Hungry."

"I am."

He opened his phone and started ordering.

A few minutes later they were again on the sofa waiting for their food

"Let's watch a movie?"

Maya nodded

He started looking through movies. Then he stopped.

Maya looked at the screen.

"Absolutely not"

"You haven't seen it."

"I know that face, That's a Horror movie."

Kabir laughed.

"you're scared."

"I'm not."

"Then watch it."

Maya grabbed a cushion and settles into the sofa.

"Fine. but I am not scared."

"Of course you aren't."
