Summary

"Kassauni, there is more to life than continuous pain and suffering. I am sure you know that, and no one is asking you to go through it alone," She told me. I took a long drag from the blunt and held it in my lungs before releasing it. "Whatever yah talk 'bout sound like a fairy tale and mi nuh want yuh feel like me is a problem fi yuh fix," I stated, staring into her eyes. She frowned, deeply. "You need to talk to someone, or me. I am here for you if you need anything." Her voice came out softer than usual. "Rosalia, left that. It nuh concern yuh," I told her. She hissed her teeth and slapped the blunt out of my hand. "Mi try talk to yuh, but if yuh nah go at least try to get help then mi nuh need fi deh here. Stay by yuhself since a that yuh fucking want." She turned and started walking away. // He was abandoned by his parents. Time and time again they let him down, not realizing that each time it was draining him. He isn't the most sentimental guy, probably one of the most nonchalant and controlling people you've ever met. She was sweet and came from what people would call the perfect family. In a short time, she made him indecisive and question himself. Peeled away every armor he had shielding his insecurities. She broke him but stood by him while he rebuilt himself into a better man. THE PROLOGUE

Rosalia’s Point Of View

- July 4th, 5:45 p.m

Norbrook, Kingston

Tears build up in my eyes as I stared at my father, moving around the living room. My brother sat on the couch grinning his teeth while texting one of his little floozies. I rolled eyes at him.

"Daddy, please don't do this to me. Why can't I stay at my school?" I complained.

"Rosalia gwaan guh sidung and nuh bother mi." My father hissed his teeth.

"Eh, guh sidung man. Love bawl fi foolishness. Yuh nuh glad yah guh still deh close to mi?" Jardani asked. I scrunched my face in disgust as he walked over to me.

Kingston mattress nuh chat to mi!

"Daddy," I whined.

"What, Rosalia? How much time me ago tell yuh seh the decision final? Stop call mi name, man," Daddy said.

The man love gwaan like him old, essi. All because a dutty Jardani me a transfer guh Wolmer's Girls. The dutty bwoy a look company eno.

"Yuh not even did ask mi if me did wah go or not. Not because Jardani a transfer that nuh mean me would'a wah transfer to. A company him a look and me nuh wah hitch up back a him." I huffed, folding my arms across my chest.

"Yuh never know yuh nuh wah hitch up back a him when yuh run go Campion wid him? Likkle girl, nuh make me affi talk again, yer?" He warned me. I hissed my teeth and walked off.

"A nuh kiss yuh just kiss yuh teeth?" He asked and my eyes widened.

"No, Daddy," I say, quickly.

"A lie she a tell. A kiss she just kiss har teeth, bright." Jardani smirked.

Dawg head informa bwoy!

"Fuck off, drankro," I said, lowly and went upstairs to my room. He laughed and I rolled my eyes.

"Yah move suh, twin?" Jay asked me.

"Leave me alone nuh," I rolled my eyes and picked up my phone. He sat down on my bed.

"A wah do yuh?" He asked me.

"I don't want to go to Wolmer’s Girls, Jay. I don't see the big deal why you chose to transfer when we have only one more year leave until we graduate," I said, hissing my teeth.

"Suh yuh still wah go the school weh man come and shoot up? Stop gwaan like yuh nuh have nuh sense, Alia," He said to me. I released a sigh.

"Come out a mi room nuh, Jay," I said, wiping my face.

"If yuh run me out, yuh cya chat to mi or beg mi nuth'n again eno. That mi a tell yuh," He threatened.

"That's all yuh good fah. Me want privacy," I told him. He got up from my bed.

"Hmm," he took up his phone.

"Close the door when you're leaving, please." I smiled brightly at him and he stared at me before walking to the door.

"Do it yuh self," He retort, kicking it wide open before walking out.

"Likkle shit mouth mawga bwoy!" I shout after him.

"Chat like yuh fat, termite!" He yelled back.

Dutty drankro.

It's not like he's wrong though. Going back to Campion College is risky because there was a shooting up there but I don't like all girls school and some females love the mixup which is a turn off for me.

Jardani and I are twins. We have been attached at the hip ever since we were kids. Well, since we were in the womb.

He went to Campion College and I transferred after I passed for Immaculate. As I said, all girls school isn't my thing. After the shooting, we have been taking classes online but I'm tired of it now and our parents wanted us to go back to school.

We're a week into the summer holidays and Daddy decided that he's going to let us go to separate schools. Jay chose Wolmer's Boys. I was going see my other options but then Daddy decided for me and said I will go to Wolmer's Girls. Nothing I hate more.

And me nuh like di bagga gyal company sometimes. Too mix up more while.

Two Days Later

July 6th, 8: 45 a.m.

This morning when I woke up, I had a plan. Even though Daddy said that his decision was final, I need to talk to him when he is not annoyed. Especially now since Mommy is home.

I straightened my bedroom before walking down the hall to Jardani’s bedroom. When I walked in, his room was dark and he was on his phone. Closing the door behind me, I walked over and climbed onto the bed next to him. He shone the phone light in my face and I squinted my eyes.

"The same knock before entering policy that you have, mi have it to, yer?" He told me.

"I need a favor, and if you love me you'll do it for me," I said, pouting. He hissed his teeth and groaned.

"Don't bother with the foolishness now, Alia man. Weh yuh want?" He asked.

"Can we talk to Daddy and choose a school to go to that we both like? Please?" I pleaded.

By 'we' I mean him. If Daddy shame him, him nah go cry. Me? Ago bawl, cause me cannot take shame.

"What school do you want to go to, Alia? We cannot go back to Campion, I hope you know that," He muttered. I licked my lips and sighed.

"Ardenne High School. We can both go there and you even get to wear long-sleeved shirts as well," I tried bargaining with him.

He always wanted to wear long-sleeved shirts. At one point he wanted to go to Jamaica College with our cousin Alex.

"Never thought of that. Yuh like it?" He asked, genuinely. I nodded with a small smile.

"Yes, and you get to go to a girl and boy school as well. Why do you even want to go to Wolmer's when it's only guys there?" I asked. He smirked and sighed.

"Over there Tamica ago train," He told me. I frowned and kissed my teeth.

"Really? You can do better and a could never the head weh she give yuh make you a reach so," I told him.

Mi never understand how him a bright bwoy and so whoring. The couple brain cells weh him have really working.

Tamica Sinclair is one of the many females that fall at my brother's feet. She's going to a teachers' college and they met at a party he went to. I don't like her, and as far as girls go that he plays around with, she's upsetting and annoying.

She wants him fi be har man after the first night she meet him, she gives him head in a public bathroom.

Personally, I don't care if you want to have sex on the first date because that's your body, do as you please with it. What makes me roll my eyes most of the time is that you just see the person and for the next 30 minutes their dick is down your throat?

Not even on the first date.

Gyal nuh have nuh style!

Females need to remember that you attract what you put out most of the time. If you want a man to actually take you serious after you're sure he's interested, don't give yourself to him so easily. Let him think about what's beneath the garments. Tease him.

Pity she nuh know him only see har as one of the many bitches that gives him blowjob when he's bored. Mi know who him want.

And what I find funny is the fact that di dutty bwoy save the girl as 'Cocky Vacuum'.

Mi shame!

"Hmm, nuh asked me nothing bout that. So, you want to go to Ardenne?" He asked and I nodded.

"Today Daddy is going to get the transfer slip and the other stuff. Come now," I told him, getting off the bed. He followed shortly after, neglecting to brush his teeth.

When we got downstairs, Mommy was by the stove making breakfast while Daddy was sipping tea from his usual white coffee mug that had ‘World’s Best Dad’ written on the side. I had given it to him for his birthday a couple years back.

"Morning," Jay and I greeted, taking a seat next to my Dad at the counter. He hummed and Mommy smiled.

"Alia and I wanted to talk to you guys before Dad goes to the school," Jay said, sitting next to me.

"The decision is made," Dad stated.

"We both want to attend Ardenne high, instead " Jay told him, despite his protest.

"What happened to not wanting to be Jardani’s tail?" Mommy asked.

"I was just talking, besides it's better if we're both going to the same school, right?" I asked. Daddy sighed, heavily while rubbing his temples.

"I'm going up by the school today to get the transfer slips. Make sure the decision is final," He stated. I smiled at him and then turned to Mommy.

I always loved watching her cook. Something about it is therapeutic.

"Mi ago link Alex later," Jardani announced.

"As long as yuh reach back before 9:30, I have no problem," Daddy said, getting up after he finished his breakfast. He walked over to Mommy to give her a kiss and I looked away.

Awkward...

"Babe, chill out. The kids are here," Mommy said, giggling. I rolled my eyes and Dad chuckled.

"Soon come," He told her, walking out the kitchen. I slipped off the stool and followed him outside.

"Daddy, can I get some money?" I asked, shyly.

"Mi never give you and Jardani money yesterday?" He asked, reaching for his wallet nonetheless. He took out four crisp $5,000 bills and gave me.

"Mines only?" I asked.

"Share it evenly, and me ago call Jay and ask him," He told me and I laughed, stepping away from his vehicle.

"Love you," I beamed. He kissed my forehead before getting into the car. 2023 Range Rover Sport.

"Love you more, Princess," He said, turning on the engine.

As he was reversing out of the garage, the security, Mr. Kenny opened the gate. Jardani pushed past me and called out to Daddy for him to stop. He walked to the driver’s window and leaned against it. I waited for him and after a few minutes, he was walking towards me.

"Here." I reached my hand out to give him his half of the money. He took it and we went inside.

"Ago come wid mi go over Alex?" He asked.

"No, I’m staying home. Probably invite my friends over," I told him.

"So weh yah go eat? Order in?" He asked again.

"I can cook," I reminded him. He snorted a laugh as we made it to the kitchen.

"The week before school, you both will be buying your shoes and bags for school. You guys okay with that?" Mommy asked as she placed down two plates on the counter.

"Yes. We ordered matching sneakers on line too but I want to buy two more pairs," I told her as I started eating.

"What shoes did you guys order?" She asked.

"Regular sneakers," I said, quickly. Jardani laughed.

Lieeee!

Tell the lady that uno order Prada sneakers cause uno hype and bruk bad.

"I'm going to buy the uniform material today after your father gets back with the school packages. You'll take your measurement for your skirts this Thursday," She told me.

"Mommy, I want long sleeves shirts," Jay told her.

After breakfast, I washed all the dishes and Mommy went to do house chores. I suppose she's on leave now so she will be home for the next three weeks. She's a Doctor, a Psychiatrist to be exact. She was born and raised in the US and her father was Jamaican. She worked for 2 years overseas before she became a Psychiatrist out here.

My parents met overseas because my Dad travel back and forth for business. Both legal and illegal, which we don't poke our noses into. He laid down strict rules and made sure we follow them. It's not that we don't know about it, we just stay away from it because at the end of the day, all that matters is that he's safe and he comes home safely.

"Me ago leave now. Sure yuh nuh wah come?" Jardani asked, walking into my bedroom.

One thing with him and Daddy, them ago wear them a white T-shirt and ripped jeans.

"No, Malika and Geneva ago come over. Mommy gone?" I asked him. He picked up one of my perfumes and spritzed it on his neck.

Watchya

"Yeah, Daddy just come fi har. Wah me fi pick dem up?" He asked.

"No, them good. Why me feel like yah go take long?" I asked, pausing the video I was watching on my laptop.

"A wah, yuh fraid?" He asked me.

"No, but stay until them reach then yuh can gwaan. They're coming at the same time," I told him.

Eventually, my friends came and then Jardani left. The only company I have are my friends and my brother. I have had boyfriends in the past but none of them lasted long enough and they were afraid of Jardani and my Dad.

Weak!

I'm still a virgin and I'm not ashamed about it. Both my best friends are sexually active while I decided to wait until I find the right guy. Maybe when I'm in love and find someone trustworthy.

The thought of having sex with one person then we break up and I move on to another, scares me. The whole sex topic is something that encourages me to wait, despite how exciting my peers made it sound.

Firstly, I don't want to catch anything and I know deep down I don't want to have sex with a guy with no experience. I want my first time to be memorable and I don't want to regret it, either. Getting pregnant while I'm still in school is not the aim either, because while my family would understand and support me, I feel like they'd be disappointed as well.

Despite all that, I still want someone who will love me for me. I need someone genuine and dominant, that's not intimidated by my father or my brother.

Right!

We nuh wah nuh weak jelly back like Akeem and nuh whore like Jevaunie.

"Me hungry, order something nuh?" I asked, throwing my legs on Geneva's back.

"We did buy food fi yuh," Malika said, sitting up on the bed.

I had loaned them some of my clothes to put on because I don't like outside clothes on my bed. Ever since the pandemic, it has gotten more serious.

Malika love to wear the short up clothes them, and di wul a har batty jaw outta door. I leaned over and slapped her ass. She hissed her teeth and then rolled her eyes.

"That hot eno, girl," She complained.

"Move, a that yuh like," Geneva said, laughing.

"Two a uno a batty gyal," Malika said, waving us off as she pulled down the shorts.

"Why a now yah complain? Look how much time me used to feel yuh up and yuh nuh seh nothing?" Geneva continued.

"Yuh lie! Eva, lowe me alone, yer." Malika walked into my bathroom and I stood from the bed.

"Yuh batty big eno," I said to her as she pulled the shorts down to sit on the toilet to pee.

Right yasso me a stand up.

"Stop watch me nuh, gyal," Malika said. I laughed and left my bedroom to get the food in the kitchen.

You and yuh likkle sadamite friend dem, a that's why nuh man nuh want uno eno.
