Chapter 1

My name is Dr.Yoon Da-som.I am a thirty two year old surgeon and single. I read romance novels in my free time, but having grown up as a neglected child who had to rely entirely on myself, I never experienced true love or dated anyone.

Take the web novel "I Fell for My Boss, and My Bias Is Trash," for instance. It is your typical, frustrating manhwa. The female lead, Shin Bora, is a K-pop fan who stans a boy group called Charming Boys. She fell head over heels for a member named Kang Do-jin. After finishing school and college, she actually managed to land a job at the exact same entertainment agency (Onul Entertainment) and started dating her idol turned colleague. But Bora is a timid, sensitive girl who constantly wallows in guilt.

The male lead is the CEO, Shin Si-hyuk, who inevitably falls for Bora too. To make things messy, Do-jin and Si-hyuk have been best friends since high school. To make matters worse, Do-jin never told Si-hyuk that he used to date Bora before she moved on to the CEO.

Back in high school, both best friends fell for the exact same girl: Kim Jihyo. But Jihyo never saw Do-jin as anything more than a friend; she fell for Si-hyuk instead. They dated for a while before parting ways. Jihyo is a mature, independent career woman, just like me, making her easily my favorite character. Si-hyuk only found out about Do-jin's old crush on Jihyo after they broke up, and he even apologized for it like a total gentleman.

Naturally, a toxic mess ensues. Green eyed with envy, Do-jin manipulates Si-hyuk's ex-girlfriend, Jihyo, into trying to ruin the CEO and Bora's relationship. A lovesick fool, Jihyo agrees. But Si-hyuk easily shuts it down, freezing his ex out entirely. When Si-hyuk discovers his own best friend engineered the sabotage, his world shatters. The original villain and villainess end up utterly ruined, while the main leads get their happily ever after.

It is completely absurd! Is this villainess out of her mind? She is a brilliant, wealthy surgeon who could have any man she wants, yet she throws her life away for a man who does not want her. The second male lead is an idiot who shatters his best friend's trust over unexpressed grudges. And why do these fictional CEOs always fall for such helpless, petty women? Bora is a walking red flag for dating her boss while knowing her ex-bias and the CEO are best friends. They ruined a lifelong brotherhood over her!

If I were Jihyo, I would never cross their paths. I would just enjoy my wealth, my career, and the luxury of having parents who actually spoil me.

"Just let me grab some ice cream..."

I muttered to myself as I pulled open the fridge door. BZZZT.

A sudden, violent jolt of electricity surged through my hands. No way... I can't die like this!

When I finally regained consciousness, the blinding white lights of a hospital ceiling greeted me. Someone was sobbing right beside my bed.

"Oh my god! My baby woke up!"

Blinking heavily, I stared at the frantic stranger. "What... what is this place? Who are you?"

He panicked, clutching my hand. "Jihyo, sweetheart! I am your father, Kim Ha-joon. You are Kim Jihyo!"

My mind stalled. Jihyo? What does he mean? No way... did I actually transmigrate into the doomed villainess?!

"Father," I managed to croak out, my medical instincts warring with total disbelief. "What happened to me?"

"You just graduated top of your class from medical school, and you got into a terrible car accident on your way home."

A wave of memories that did not belong to me flooded my brain. Ah. I had broken up with the male lead seven years ago, and thanks to the original owner's god-given genius, matched only by my own real-life surgical expertise, I was already a brilliant young doctor.

A slow, triumphant grin spread across my face. This is fantastic. I have money, status, and brains. I am never, ever crossing paths with those toxic main leads. I am going to live my best life.

I let out a laugh so loud and sudden that my poor father jumped back in sheer terror.

"Jihyo, honey..." he stammered, looking at me like I had lost my mind. "What happened to my precious daughter?"
