Summary

"Divorce was never an option. Running only made the game longer." Adopted, used, and traded off—Elena Morrison was handed over to a total stranger to settle her family's crushing debts. The deal was simple: her freedom in exchange for her family's survival. Dante Vance is cold, powerful, and ruthless, he expects absolute obedience from his new bride. But Elena refuses to be just another asset in his empire. She signs the contract to save her skin, but the moment the ink dries, she plans her escape. For months, she plays the dutiful wife, waiting for the perfect moment to vanish into thin air. But when she finally breaks her chains and runs, she learns the hardest lesson of all: in Dante's world, there is no escape. He locked down the city. He tore up the divorce papers. And he’s coming to claim what’s his. Because running from a man like Dante Vance doesn't give you freedom—it only brings him closer.

Chapter 1: Prologue

The heavy mahogany doors slammed open, echoing through the cold, empty penthouse.

He stepped inside, his dark eyes sweeping over the bare vanity and the cold side of the bed until they landed on the signed divorce papers sitting on the glass coffee table. Beside them lay her ring, cold and abandoned.

She was gone. She really thought she could run from him.

A slow smile touched his lips as he pulled out his phone, his voice calm and sharp.

"Block every route out of the city," he said smoothly. "If she thinks running away changes anything, she's wrong. Every step she takes only brings us closer."

He walked to the table, picked up the divorce papers, and tore them right down the middle, letting the pieces fall to the floor.

"Find my wife. Because divorce is never an option."
