Grief is not something to conquer
People see the years.
I see the empty space he left behind.
They say, "Get over it."
But grief is not something to conquer.
It is love with nowhere to go.
It is carrying someone's name in your heart
long after the world has stopped saying it.
There is no crime in missing someone
who meant everything to you.
There is no weakness in mourning
the person who helped you survive.
One day, perhaps, they too will lose someone
whose absence changes the shape of their world.
And then they'll understand—
that moving forward is possible,
but moving on is not always the same.
So I will carry him with me,
through every season of my life.
Not because I refuse to heal,
but because some people are too precious
to leave behind.
And as long as my heart remembers him,
a part of him still walks beside me. ❤️
