Chosen
Before humanity ever looked toward the stars…
The universe was already watching.
Before heroes existed.
Before legends were written.
Before worlds knew the meaning of salvation…
There was the Grid.
An ancient network of cosmic energy that flowed through galaxies, planets, and civilizations.
Some believed it was a miracle.
Others believed it was the greatest weapon ever created.
But the truth was something far greater.
The Grid was alive.
It connected all things.
Every star.
Every world.
Every life.
And when darkness began spreading across the universe…
The Grid searched for something it had not found in generations.
Not warriors.
Not conquerors.
Not the strongest beings in existence.
Something much harder to find.
Protectors.
EARTH — PRESENT DAY
The night sky above Earth was unusually quiet.
No storms.
No unusual activity.
No warnings.
At least, that was what humanity believed.
But far beyond what anyone could see…
Something ancient awakened.
A wave of energy traveled across the planet.
Five different people looked toward the sky at the exact same moment.
They didn’t know each other.
They lived completely different lives.
But the Grid had found them.
NOVA CARSON
Nova sat on the roof of her apartment building, looking at the stars.
She always felt connected to the sky.
Like there was something out there listening.
Her phone buzzed beside her.
She ignored it.
For once, she wanted peace.
No responsibilities.
No worrying about everyone else.
Just silence.
Then the sky changed.
A wave of pink and silver energy crossed the atmosphere.
Nova slowly stood.
“What… is that?”
The stars above her shifted.
Not disappeared.
Shifted.
Like something was moving between them.
Then a voice entered her mind.
“Connection found.”
Nova froze.
“Who’s there?”
The energy descended.
And it chose her.
DRAKE REYES
Across the city, Drake stood inside an abandoned warehouse.
His fists slammed into a training bag.
Again.
Again.
Again.
The chain snapped.
The bag crashed to the floor.
Drake stared at it.
“Still not enough.”
He hated feeling powerless.
Especially when the one thing he wanted answers about was gone.
His father.
The man who disappeared while searching for the Grid.
Then the warehouse shook.
Drake looked up.
Dark black and violet energy surrounded him.
The voice came.
“Connection found.”
Drake clenched his fists.
“Finally.”
JETT MORANO
Jett ran across the rooftops.
Fast.
Careless.
Free.
Behind him, security drones chased him.
“You guys really need better software!”
He jumped across an alley.
The drones followed.
Then everything stopped.
The city became silent.
A red energy wave exploded above him.
A glowing phoenix appeared in the sky.
For once…
Jett had no joke.
The voice spoke.
“Connection found.”
Jett stared.
“Okay…”
He smiled.
“That’s actually pretty cool.”
ARIA LIN
Aria sat inside her laboratory surrounded by screens.
Ancient symbols.
Star charts.
Grid research.
Her parents spent their lives studying this mystery.
Then they vanished.
She refused to believe it was random.
“There has to be a connection.”
Suddenly, every monitor activated.
Energy readings appeared.
Impossible readings.
A message formed:
GRID RESPONSE: CHOSEN
Aria stood.
“No…”
The voice echoed.
“Connection found.”
For the first time…
Aria had no answer.
QUINN MOSS
Quinn was surrounded by machines and alien theories.
“Okay, if aliens ever invade Earth…”
They held up a model spaceship.
“Which probably won’t happen.”
A pause.
“But definitely could.”
The lights flickered.
Quinn looked up.
“Oh.”
Yellow energy filled the room.
Their inventions activated by themselves.
Quinn smiled.
“Either this is amazing…”
They looked around.
“Or I’m about to have a terrible day.”
The voice responded.
“Connection found.”
Quinn nodded.
“Definitely both.”
THE GRID CHOOSES
Five energy signatures connected.
Five lives changed forever.
Across Earth…
Five glowing objects fell from the sky.
Meteor-like shards.
But they weren’t meteors.
They were older.
Ancient.
Impossible.
The Cosmic Morphers.
Nova touched hers.
The device wrapped around her wrist.
A wolf constellation appeared.
“What are you?”
Drake grabbed his.
A serpent constellation burned across the display.
“I don’t need anyone choosing me.”
The Morpher responded.
“Chosen.”
Jett caught his.
A phoenix appeared.
“Okay. Weirdest day ever.”
Aria studied hers.
A cosmic orca appeared.
“The Grid…”
She whispered.
“It’s real.”
Quinn’s Morpher activated.
A lion constellation roared.
Quinn smiled.
“Best day ever.”
Then all five Morphers activated.
A message appeared.
COSMIC DEFENDERS REQUIRED
Before anyone could react…
The sky opened.
A massive alien ship entered Earth’s atmosphere.
THE VOID RAIDERS
The invasion began.
Alien soldiers descended from the ship.
Their weapons drained energy from the environment.
They weren’t searching for Earth.
They were searching for something hidden beneath it.
The Grid.
A strange floating skull hovered beside the invasion force.
It looked around.
“Wow.”
It scanned the city.
“Humans are smaller than I expected.”
A Void Raider looked at it.
“You are supposed to be helping.”
The skull sighed.
“I am helping.”
It looked at the destruction.
“Your definition of helping is just questionable.”
The soldiers ignored it.
The skull shook its head.
“Nobody appreciates a genius.”
THE FIRST BATTLE
The five chosen teenagers arrived.
They didn’t know each other.
They didn’t understand their powers.
But they saw people in danger.
Nova stepped forward.
“We have to help.”
Drake looked at the aliens.
“Finally.”
Jett smiled.
“Today just got interesting.”
Aria scanned the battlefield.
“We are completely unprepared.”
Quinn looked at their Morpher.
“Good news.”
Everyone looked.
“I have no idea what I’m doing.”
A pause.
“That was not good news.”
The Morphers activated.
Five voices echoed.
“COSMIC IGNITE!”
Energy exploded.
Armor formed.
Pink.
Black.
Red.
Purple.
Yellow.
The first Cosmic Defenders had arrived.
But they weren’t heroes yet.
They were just five people with incredible power.
And the Void Raiders quickly proved something.
Power wasn’t enough.
The Defenders were thrown back.
Separated.
Overwhelmed.
The floating skull watched.
“Huh.”
It tilted its head.
“They’re terrible.”
A pause.
“But…”
It smiled.
“They might become interesting.”
Nova struggled to stand.
“We can’t fight like this.”
Drake looked at the others.
They weren’t a team.
They were five individuals.
Jett helped Quinn up.
Aria protected Nova.
Drake stepped forward.
“Then let’s become one.”
The five Defenders stood together.
Not because they were ready.
Not because they understood.
Because they chose to protect.
Their Morphers began glowing.
The Grid responded.
The Void Raiders retreated.
For now.
The floating skull watched from the shadows.
“Interesting…”
It looked at the five heroes.
“Who knew the Grid had a sense of humor?”
The universe had its protectors.
The first generation.
The beginning of a legend.
