----------------------------

I'm a young, handsome and energetic guy--though others don't quite agree. And among the things I hate, sharing a room is ranked pretty high up.

Still despite my countless protests my parents made me live in a hostel with a three-people-sharing policy. Three people in a room? Too much for privacy. I had more than a few reasons to not share my room, I can't walk around in boxers, can't even talk to a girl peacefully, oh and people just use each other's clothes without asking.

I had some bittersweet experiences there. Like there was one girl who was interested in me--or so I thought. She messaged me first, and me and my two roomies used all our knowledge to talk to her to get me a date.

Sounds like I was into her-- I can't deny she was attractive, with the type of big, round eyes that can make anyone's heart race. I'm confident that I would've landed the date if those two dumbfucks-- with literally zero experience with women--weren't up my ass pushing me to send those desperate messages, idiots believed desperation was a symbol of passion. Fuck, now I have a bad reputation among the girls.

Anyway, I'm at my parents' place because it's a fucking vacation. And we're arguing about me leaving the hostel for good.

A little heads up--my parents are as stubborn as I am. I guess it's genetic.

"Are lekin papa, mein apna dhyan khud rakh sakta hoon." I protested. I am doing everything I can to manipulate my parents.

"Tu?" He scoffed at me. "Ek din humne tujhe akela choda tha, cooker fod diya tha tune." Yeah, I did that....6 years ago.

"Par ub toh mujhe khana banana aa gaya hai. Aap tension mat lo mein sab karlunga. Please papa." I added a please papa in every argument I presented as if it was equivalent to your honor.

"Aapni maa se puch, voh jo kahegi voh karna" look at this, old man got some confidence in his wife. Of course he has, they are basically 'do jism ek jaan.'

There, that was a mistake, my father made.

I ran to my mom, who was on cooking duty today.

"Maa, papa ne haa bol di apartment mein rehne ke liye." Heh, guys it's manipulation 101. Always be confident no matter how big a fire is under your ass.

"Par.." before she could say anything. "mein pakka roz video call karunga, ghar saff rakhunga aur bahar ka khana nai khunga. Promise. " I interrupted her and she was on the verge of saying yes.

"*sigh* thik hai, lekin mein randomly kabhi bhi tere ghar aa jaungi. Aur kuch esa vesa mujhe mila toh fir tu dekh." Hell yeah, when mom's convinced, everyone agrees.

"Thank you maa." I kissed her on the cheek with a tight hug.

And then I said a similar thing to my father and finally, I got the permission.

The vacation itself was about a month long, and of course it won't pass by just staying at home. A trip with friends was a must, now wasn't it?

So, naturally, me and my friends made a few plans, Goa, Manali, Mussoorie, the usual. Heh of course all parents will give permission for Manali. The other two were just to make Manali look the best option.

So, the plans were made. And bags were packed. I'll be leaving in a few hours.

I decided to ask for an apartment before the trip because--if they rejected it, it'll be a mind refreshing trip or else an extremely fun trip. Glad it was the latter.

--------few hours later------

It's time for me to leave for the railway station, I'm excited for this.

Zizzz-zizzz-ziz-zi

My phone vibrated, I looked at the screen it was Adi. My roommate...oh my bad, ex-roommate.

I picked up the phone.

"Oyeeeee, nikal gaya? " yup that's him, noisy. Still he's a great friend. So am I.

"Bas gadi mein hi betha hoon, 15 minute mein aa jaunga." And I hung up, without his reply. Old habits.

------30 mins later------

I barely made it in time. Fuck Delhi traffic. It directly messes with your head, indeed a mind fuck. And in this, when your father preaches some rules which are obviously going to be broken. Like don't smoke, no drinking etc., etc.

Still, I don't smoke, but a drink once in a while is okay, right?

We finally reached the railway station. Shit. I'm fifteen minutes late. So,I quickly grabbed my bag and suitcase. And started running towards the lift.

It's good my father didn't come to see me off all the way. Sometimes he acts so polite, it makes me want to respect him even more.

"Aree! Aaiye-aaiye maharaj. Bas 15 minute late aaye aap? Pura din hai abhi toh, train aapni he hai naa!" That's Samarth..oh Sam I meant, idiot thought shortening his name would help in getting a chick--which hasn't worked yet. Believe me, it would take a miracle to find his sarcastic ass a decent girlfriend.

Oh, by the way, I'm Ved.

And the rest of the trip...is a story for some other time.
