The Girl Everyone Laughed With✨

Chapter 1 — The Girl Everyone Laughed With

Tara had always been good at making people laugh.

She could turn an awkward silence into a joke, a boring afternoon into a story, and almost any embarrassing moment into something everyone would remember.

People thought she was confident.

Some thought she was carefree.

And most of them believed she was happy.

Tara never corrected them.

It was easier that way.

At school, she was the kind of girl people noticed. She talked a little too much, laughed a little too loudly, and somehow always had something funny to say.

But there was one thing nobody noticed.

When the laughter stopped, Tara became very quiet.

She had learned that being surrounded by people didn't necessarily mean having someone who truly knew you.

So she kept certain things to herself.

Her fears.

Her loneliness.

The thoughts she couldn't explain.

And the little moments when she wondered if anyone would actually notice if she stopped pretending to be okay.

Then, one ordinary morning, everything changed.

Tara stood in front of the school gates with her bag hanging from one shoulder, staring at the unfamiliar building in front of her.

A new school.

A new class.

New faces.

A new beginning.

At least, that's what everyone kept telling her.

She took a breath and smiled.

"Okay, Tara," she whispered to herself. "Let's see how badly this goes."

And just like that, she walked inside.

She didn't know it yet, but this was the beginning of the version of herself she would one day struggle to recognize.
