Chapter 1
A.

My feet thump as I walk through the school halls. I said I'd never come back to this place... Like every other normal highschooler.
Little did I think, number one, about my younger nephews that also go to this school. Number two, Alea, my older sister who is a doctor is currently in the ER for an emergency surgery, so she's busy all of the time. Number three, one of her sons is a bully.
Just like his aunt.
I would say I'm proud. But couldn't he have bullied someone on another day when his mother wasn't busy?
The call came from my sister when I was just about to leave for one of my self care appointments. She asked me to fill in for her and I almost protested, but she offered me a batch of her famous brownies with the recipe included. Which I couldn't refuse. That would have been rude of me. Wouldn't it?
So that's how I ended up in this prison they call school. I don't hate the learning. I hate the people in the school. All except my friends and family here.
My heels clack furiously through the halls. That punk is going to hear from me, I'll make sure of that.
I open the see through glass door, and glare at Kai.
His dark brown hair is messy in a way that doesn't hide his handsomeness. I almost falter and give in to his good looks that he inherited from the family blood line.
His hopeful smile disappears at the sight of my irritated face.
He knows what's coming.
Everyone in my family knows not to play with me when I'm irritated. The perks of being the strongest shifter in your family. Not even my older brothers can beat me. Luckily I never had to be the successor to the pack. I like doing my own thing sometimes. And I don't want to deal with the council.
I immediately walk into the office and my nephew follows quickly with his head lowered in defeat. He can try to make me pity him, but I'm too irritated for it to work.
This better be important.
The principal stands up, "Miss Cristalle." The shock still evident on his face due to the state of my nephew. We also didn't have the smoothest sailing in my school years, that could also explain the expression on his face. Maybe he never expected to see me again. I chuckle at the thought.
I sit at one of the two chairs opposite the principal. Mister Harrison follows my lead by sitting in his chair, the same chair he used from last year when I had gone here. Kai stands behind the second chair and Mister Harry stairs expectantly at him to sit. "Kai can stand," I say while looking back at him, his head is still lowered.
My focus turns to Mister Harrison. "Who did Kai bully now?" I had already heard of all the times Alea was called to come because he bullied someone.
Harrison coughs to clear his throat "Mister Cristalle didn't exactly bully anyone... Miss Cristalle. He was in a fight with some transfer student."
"And?" My fingers tap against my leg impatiently.
Is that all?
Mister Harrison's mouth is wide open in shock. He tries to gather his thoughts, but seems speechless.
I turn my head to Kai. "Did you win?"
He nods his head up and down. I turn back to Mister Harrison, "I don't see the problem. Would you enlighten me, Mister Harrison?"
"It was a female shifter," says Mister Harrison as if it explains everything.
"What happened Kai?"
"She tried to bully this girl, and I punched her."
Kai doesn't hit girls randomly. So it had to be pretty serious. "Mister Harrison he just defended a girl being bullied. So I don't think we have a problem here." I stand up.
"Miss Cristalle," he tries to stop me from leaving "he hit a female. You know it's an offense in shifter laws."
Over the past ten years female numbers grew lesser. So the council created new laws to protect the females they had.
"I'll talk to my nephew and punish him," I walk to the door.
"But..."
I leave the office without looking back and my nephew follows.
"Was she a bitch?"
"Yeah," my nephew quickly catches up to my side, his eyes scan my face hopefully.
"No birthday allowance from me this year," I say without batting an eye and his head droops.
I step in my Lamborghini, it's colour red, my favourite colour. My nephew gets in. I ref the car and speed out of the school's gates.
I'm still a little irritated. I feel chopped. My hair is frizzy and the ends are dead. My nails needed the nail appointment I had scheduled for today.
I had a whole thing worked out.
Nails at 10:00 till 11:00.
Spa and wax appointment at 11:40.
Lunch at 14:00, and hair at 15:30.
Everything planned to the brim.
Going to my old highschool ruined that schedule. Today was supposed to be about relaxing. It was my off day from work and life. One day was all I asked. But no. I may be overreacting but today was really important to me.
No. I slap myself mentally. Stop being a baby. Today is still going to be a great day. I can't let this one thing ruin everything. If I go now I can still make it.
Kai just has to be dragged along. This is his own fault. If he hadn't gone physical with some girl, he wouldn't have to tag along.
My Lamborghini parks at my favourite nail tech's place. The schedule is only an hour late. I walk in and get greeted by Camila's stern face. The tension goes away in her face when understanding leaks in at the sight of my nephew.
"Something happened with your nephew?" Asks Camila in a knowing voice with an accent. I still don't know how she knows about everything.
She turns to the other ladies, says something in perfect Spanish to them. And they pull Kai to one chair while filling a tub with warm water.
I sit at Camila's table and she starts doing my nails listening to me as I talk about my frustrations. At the same time a lady starts massaging Kai's feet. He relaxes at her touch.
I'm tired of waiting. Everyone is, actually.
I know I haven't waited that long. But five years feels like forever. Everyone around us is building families and everything. All that we're making is money. It sounds great, but when you don't have someone who loves you beside you, it gets kind of lonely. My wolf moves restlessly in my head. He doesn't usually pace in my head, but he is now...
I look at the clock on my bedstand. It's 11:45. Last night's party was crazy. Girls literally jumped us. And the gentleman I was last night, couldn't refuse their offers. The three woman from last night are still sleeping. The spot Nat was in is empty so he probably already went back home. Since day one, one of our biggest rules was to never bring women back home. Unless the woman was our mate of course. It would just backfire on us when every woman came back for more. They always do. And we all knew it.
I escape the sheets, and quickly put on my clothes.
Today is Friday... If I'm right. The staff bow their heads when I pass them. A sign of respect to alpha wolves. Winter paces in my head. Something should happen today. Something interesting. He's never been this restless in my twenty four years of life.
My skin tingles at the thought of something happening. The sky is clear. My BMW comes to live when I turn my keys. I need a shower. I didn't shower in the hotel room earlier because I didn't want to explain why I wasn't going to mate with a female that's not my fated mate. Winter huffs. He doesn't like the fact that I'm sleeping with anyone other than our mate.

When I arrive at the house I run for the shower. I throw the dirty clothes in the laundry basket.
This heat hits me instantly. My dick hardens instantly. I start working on my dick.
Even with the blinding heat, I smile widely. Males usually go through a phase before they meet their mate. The rest of them must have started feeling it too, because I feel pleasure coming from them through the bond.
Five years of waiting are going to end tonight. I can't wait.
"Meeting in the lounge area," Axel's voice comes through deep, but even I can feel his excitement. I'm usually oblivious to these things.
Hopefully we'll meet her before tonight.
