Chapter 1
THE HORRIFYING NIGHT
It was a horrifying night when I woke up to find Ari and Avi at the top of the stairs, crying, while Mom was lying in a pool of blood at the bottom of the stairs.
Dad was out on a mission with Sandro and Alex, while Kai was sleeping?! Of course he was. I immediately hid the girls because I saw the reflection of a masked man in the living room mirror. I always wondered why there was a mirror in the living room, literally next to the bookshelf.
After I hid the girls, I called Dad and told him what had happened and he sent Sandro and Alex to the house. What is suprising is that how did he get pass the security and guards because there's a high security here.
Then I hear another scream, that one I know very well, it's Kai. I literally don't get that guy, but it's fine.
Before the man can shoot him too, I yanked him inside where we hid. Well I thought about it first, I really hate that guy, yes even if he's my twin brother.
After yanking Kai, we may thank my twin sense for that. I could hear heavy footsteps coming towards where we hid.
Then the door opened.
He started trashing everything inside the room. He stopped for a few minutes and walked towards the closet. Before he could reach it, the front door downstairs slammed open.
Then man jumped out of the window and ran away.
Then another set of footsteps came, and I knew who it was already.
The door opened.
It was Alex.
Oh how relieved we were.
After that i tried calming down the girls and ''Kai'', so they can go to sleep so the big problem can be solved which is MOM.
Dad couldn't beleive what was happening. He told Sandro to call the ambulence, but it was too late. Therewas nothing anyone could do.
It was over.
Mom is dead.
We were all devastated because we lost the most important person in our lives. We lost our Mother and dad lost his Wife.
Alex called Mom's sister, Aunt Lina and told her the news. She demanded to speak to Dad, but Dad wasn't in his right mind.
We just let him have the last moment with Mom. We didn't want to disturb him. Even the maids and guards stayed very far away.
Wait.... guards?! Where were they this whole time.
The door opened, and it was Luis, Dad's best friend, personal guard, head of the security company and half brother.
Yes, he's our uncle.
You see that man is everything to Dad, but we don't trust him.
And when I say WE, I mean all of us, even the twin girls don't like him.
''what happened?'' asked Luis.
No one answered, not because we didn't want to, just we couldn't.
But me I didn't. My hatred for that guy is visible in all of my body.
''Oh my god , Violet'', he said in his ''pity'' voice, seeing Mom on the floor.
''Oh brother'' he said pitying Dad.
''It's okay, everything is going to be alright''.
You see there's something in his voice saying that he's not suprised at all.
Dad just stood up and picked Mom uo and went to their room.
After that, Sandro ordered the maids to clean up and sent everyone away.
Then Luis tried going after Dad, but I stopped him.
''Uh, where do you think you're going?''
''I'm going to check on your Father'', he said, looking up and down at me.
''No. you're not going anywhere. Dad needs time and peace, and you being here isn't going to help'', said Alex.
Luis hissed and said, ''Fine, but I'll be back tomorrow.''
With that, he left.
Good, because I was gonna gourge out his eye balls if he tries and do something.
After the maids were done, I went to my room to try and sleep.
Two hours passed, but still couldn't sleep. I kept twisting and turning, but nothing worked.
Eventually, I woke up and went to the kitchen to amke something to eat and clear my mind.
I expected no one to be in the kitchen, but i found Alessandro and Alexander.
''Can't sleep?'' Sandro asked.
''Nope,'' I said.
He smiled and poured me some ginger chamomile tea.
''Here, drink. I think you need it.''
I smiled while grabbing the cup, drank it.
''Hmmm, you always make the best tea, unlike someone,'' I said while looking Alex.
''Hey, it's not my fault I didn't receive all the talents.'' he bit back.
we all laughed.
''It's good to laugh, you know,'' said Sandro.
''Yeah, it is,'' I said.
After that the silence became louder to the point that we can hear the rhythm of our heartbeats.
Then Alex broke the silence, asking Sandro a question.
''Hey, Sandro, where do you think Luis was?''
Before Sandro can answer him, I asked.
''Wait, he wasn't with you ?''
''No, he wasn't,'' said Alex.
Then Sandro said, ''Before we were leaving, I think he told Dad he's gonna be busy with something, and there was something Dad wanted to tell himmbut Luis already hung up. Looks like he was in a hurry.''
After he said that , I thought for a moment.
''Isn't Luis the head of the guards here at the house?'' I asked.
''Yes, he is. he controls them. Why?'' said Alex.
''Because when I saw Mom on the floor,I also saw a reflection of a masked man, but what is suprising is where were the guards?'' I said.
''WHAT?!!, Why didn't you tell us?'' said Alex.
''I just did you nut head,'' i said.
He squinted his eyes on me. I just rolled my eyes at him.
''Can you describe him, the masked man," said Sandro.
I gave him an annoyed look and said,''How am I gonna describe him? He was wearing a hoodie mask. But he had hazel eyes, with crimscent blue eye colour.''
''You sure?'' asked Alex.
''Yes, I'm sure. I nevere forget.'' I said.
''He also had a white tattoo of a dragon on his left arm covering a scar and a russian accent,'' said Kai while entering the kitchen.
''How do you know?'' I asked him.
''Because I saw him entering the house. He used the back gate. Before he wore the hoodie, he was wearing a white vest.'' he said.
''Then how did you hear his voice?'' I asked.
''I heard him with my ears you idiot, thanks to my super hearing. Did you forget you have that too?'' he bit back.
I just rolled my eyes.
''What did he say?'' asked Sandro.
''I don't know, I think he was speaking Russian.'' he said .
"How do you know it was Russian?'' I asked him.
"Bitch, we are Italians, we speak Italian and English only .'' he screamed at me.
''Okay, no need to yell, and no YOU speak Italian and English only. I speak 5 languages.'' I told him.
''Really, we speak, I think it's 112." said Alex.
Both me and Kai turned to him, shocked.
''Nope, 120.'' added Sandro.
''WHAT?! HOW DO YOU KNOW ALL OF THIS?'' said Kai.
''Aish, can you try and keep it down.'' I said.
Kai just rolled his eyes .
''We traveled with Dad alot. Mostly on missions and business trips.'' said Sandro.
''But we never went to Russia, because the Russian Mod is our biggest and only enemy.'' said Alex.
''If the Russian Mob is our biggest enemy then why was a russian man in our property?'' I asked.
''Looks like we have traitor .'' said Sandro.
