STORIES OF THE BACKGROUND 1 - 10
WARNING: The following contains profanity. Viewer discretion is advised.
A Blurry Sighting of a Classroom...
Teacher: Alright, class, time to bring out your homework.
???: (Ah shit, I forgot to do mine!)
Vincent: Seriously? Are we starting this season of PTSD like this?
???: (If only I could use my powers... but dad gave the school a device that will know whenever I do that!).
Vincent: I just realized, I can hear thoughts now. Or always have been?
???: (I’m so screwed...! At least Versilyne and I aren’t in the same class anymore cause of the rank system thing).
Everyone passes their homework except hers. The teacher doesn’t notice and starts writing on the whiteboard, preparing today’s lesson. However, the POV feels embarrassed without anyone noticing.
???: (Daddy is gonna be so angry at me with my low grades.*sigh*Why am I... so weak... so dumb... lazy... I keep fucking up every single time. Whenever I try to do something that will impress everybody, I always end up getting replaced or just seen as a nobody. I’m so... pale... Should I stop going to school? But then daddy is gonna be super angry. Ugh, I don’t want this...)
Vincent: She’s just a kid, right? Things got so dark real fast. Is this “daddy” scary something? And I’m guessing this “Versilyne” is the sister.
???: (When I’m done with this shit, I don’t want anybody to remember me).
After School...
The POV walks the hallways and makes a clumsy, sharp turn toward the stairs, avoiding a nearby classroom. Outside, she warps to an invisible teleporter. She returns home and immediately fast-walks to her bedroom, locking it. The POV jumps into bed, exhausted and frustrated.
???: (There’s no class tomorrow...)
She changes clothes and starts drawing on her tablet.
Vincent: Man, is it always hot in here? I could use a drink.
A soda appears in his hand, and a sofa chair to sit on.
Vincent: I’m guessing that since this is my void thing, I can do whatever I want. Um, I want the dark girl to do some silly dance in front of me.
Nothing happened.
Vincent: Bruh.
The girl switches to a computer and starts writing stories. Vincent drinks his soda while watching. Afterwards, in one second, all the mess is cleaned, and she goes out and goes back to her room.
Vincent: Huh? What the fuck happened?
The girl stays up a little longer and goes to sleep, hugging her pillow.
Vincent: Weird. Usually, I get annoyed by Grid and Agatha whenever I sleep, saying all those parental things. ... Huh, where is her family?
???: (Daddy is probably busy at work, but Versy might knock on my door. I’ll just pretend I’m already sleeping).
Versilyne: Hey sis, do you wanna go to the school festival tomorrow? There’s gonna be awesome booths, food, and everything!
???: (Ugh...)
Versilyne: I guess she’s asleep*walks away*.
???: (Fluffy Fluff Fluff, you’re my only friend).
She snuggles on her pillow.
Girl: Memory Finding has ended.
Vincent: Where have you been?
The strange warning icon appears.
Vincent: You still haven’t got rid of this shit?!
She reaches her hand out, and Vincent takes it.
Vincent Wakes Up...
Vincent immediately gets up and bonks his head into the Box Girl’s. He then falls to the floor.
Vincent: AH FUCK! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT MADE OF?! Wait... Was I sleeping on her lap?
Darliene: Dude, when we got to Angela’s armory, you got so tired and fell asleep. She was sitting there, and you decided to just lean on her lap without having second thoughts.
Tokou: It should have been me...
Vincent: Really?! Sorry about that.
Darliene: She didn’t even try to leave. She just accepted it and stared at you from time to time.
Tokou: AH! Stop, you’re making his life better!
Darliene: Isn’t his life already better than yours?
Vincent: Wut, bruh my life is shit man. I made a bunch of enemies in the past because I was just trying to look for something to do, and even with Yelisha’s therapies, I’m still feeling guilty. Anyways, what are we doing again?
Darliene facepalms.
Tokou: Before splitting into teams, everyone is pretty much preparing for their duties. I got a bunch of junk to work with. Spikeball is with the hackers right now, so I have May to help me.
May: Uh... where does this part go?
Chelsea: For the sixth time, IT’S IN THIS RAZOR PIPE!!!
May: Fixing an X-Bot is really hard. If only Doctor Syntia were in good condition.
Vincent: Wait, don’t we have some kind of magically healing stuff?
Angela: There is, it’s just that the rainbow lightsaber Exiley was using is severely destructive; both magic and medical technologies are outdated for this type of injury. It seems Vrotic City has that tech to at least stabilize her conditions. If I still had the justice medics, they would be keeping track of the latest facilities.
Chelsea:*sigh* This is so rusty!
Angela: You should be grateful that a few of my forces happen to be X-bots of your model and left some scraps here.
Chelsea: Can’t you help me with this?!
Angela: Even though it had been eons since the last time I had fixed an X-bot, I am still a professional. Unfortunately, my powers have been diminished, and I need more time to recover.
Aiwan: (“Some godly beings can deteriorate over time if involved in an endless cycle of warfare, especially with no opportunities for improvement.“)
He types on his laptop. Tokou looks.
Tokou: You’re documenting this right in front of her?!
Chelsea: I’m pretty sure that’s old research.
Angela: ...
Vincent sees the laptop, and something catches his attention.
Vincent: Hey, what’s that? “22 Googol APs?”
Chelsea: You mean the mysterious thief? Yeah... This anomaly has been going on way before the Main Government was even a thing! People around the cosmos have been reporting items being stolen out of nowhere. Eventually, an advanced civilization was able to capture footage of this unknown anomaly. And soon, others have reported solid evidence of the same figure, responsible for all these random stealings.
Both local and foreign authorities sometimes do get close to capturing her, but somehow she always manages to escape without any identity being leaked. Even a quadrillion hackers still failed to uncover the truth. She changes various jackets to avoid being familiarized. And the worst part is... this anomaly has slain countless units trying to stop her. But some evidence shows that this anomaly may have good intentions. Experts suggest she is responsible for killing many corrupt officials and criminals while sparing the innocent.
She continues telling the details.
Vincent: I guess everyone has a skill issue in capturing this motherfucker. Maybe us too? I lost my green toothbrush in Eterneliya City that one time.
Tokou: Uh, actually, that was me. I used it to brush off the liquid toxins on my toadstools. I was going to ask permission, but you were out, so I had to. Hehe...
Vincent: Wut.
Darliene: Vice Duka is still busy in the forge, building his new armor. I’m here resting after going to their angelic gym. If you want to train, just ask Featheral. He seems to be running the place.
Vincent: I’m good. Hey, you, can we like chat alone?
Box Girl: ?!
Vincent: It’s something important.
She nods.
Tokou: IMPOSSIBLE!!! HOW DO YOU HAVE THIS MUCH RIZZ???!!!
Darliene: Keep your voice down!
She bonks him.
Tokou: Ow...
Chelsea:*whispers*Hey, Aiwan. Don’t you think it’s strange? About that Box Girl. I think I remember an appearance like that before. The box might have some kind of deceiving effect, I don’t know.
Aiwan: (Probably just your imagination.)
At a Ruined Floating Island in the Xeraphial Throne...
Winston: It took a while, but you two better get along.
Zinn: ...
Data Wraith: ...
FLASHBACK...
Zinn and Data Wraith were about to crash into each other with excessive force and hacks. Winston tries to stop them by installing platinum hex shields around himself. However, he wasn’t finished and was hit by both forces so hard that he spewed out several angelic computer viruses, ending the fight.
PRESENT TIME...
Winston pukes out a small angelic virus while recovering.
Exo and Zinn: Ew!
Vee: Exo, your updates are so old, but you still manage to fight off S.H.A.C.K.E.R., who usually observes before biting the dust.
Exo: I beat his ass into a moon.
Zinn: Didn’t Spikeball carry that whole fight?
Spikeball: That kind of credibility does not concern me. Target’s necessity was to be eliminated.
CMD-13: Upset that your comrades were deleted by the people you now work with?
Data Wraith: I told you before, it was a temporary alliance. I made no friendly relationship with Squid and Hydra. Besides, I am also obtaining compatible updates from their versions. Especially without engaging in a fight.
Winston: Isn’t this wonderful? All remaining top hackers working together to defeat Top 2 and Top 1? I know we have our differences, but this moment feels so surreal! Slittery pancakes! I forgot to bring extra tea!
Exo: I could use some pancakes.
Data Wraith: I don’t care a damn about any of you. Once this is over, we’ll just go back to our old ways, fighting for the highest rank.
Winston: By the way, you should tell me more about Vice Duka. He is a majestic god of power and honor! But I was astonished to discover his true identity! A dark bwab? Is this some kind of hybrid of those little silly squishes from Bwab Homeworld? They are an innocent and cute race, but their world serves no interest or attention to any potential invaders. Not even friendly visitors. But I assume that if the public knew his identity, that place would no longer be safe. Vice Duka is a larger figure than all of us combined! His enemies would do anything to break him apart, even by holding his homeworld hostage!
Exo: Eh, go ask that squishy dingus yourself if you wanna learn boring history.
At A Ruined Corridor...
Vincent: What the fuck do you want? Why do you keep following me and shit?
Box Girl: ...
Vincent: Look!
He points to something. The Girl looks and immediately looks back, seeing Vincent rushing at her. He tries to pull out the box while the girl holds it on.
Yelisha: Am I interrupting something?
Vincent: Yelisha! Help me pull this off.
Yelisha: Perhaps we should let her be for the time being.
Vincent: Wut.
Yelisha: There must be a reason why she persists in following you. We may not know anything about her, even though we have tried force and methods. One thing is certain: she aided us during our quest to capture Tsuzima and rescue you from the government. She, too, is trying to familiarize herself with us. Therefore, she observes from behind the mask. When trust is earned, perhaps one day, the truth shall be revealed.
Vincent looks at the Box Girl and stops. He gets up and lends a hand. The Box Girl slightly flinches, but accepts the assistance and gets up.
Skittles: Bark.
He shoots a rainbow beam into Vincent’s eyes.
Vincent: AH! WHAT THE FUCK?!
Skittles:*whimpers*.
Vincent: Be careful with that shit, bruh.
Yelisha: Skittles feels guilt. It was an accident.
Vincent: I guess you’re still like a kid or something. You’re okay.
Skittles: Bark-Bark!
Yelisha: He is glad to hear that.
Vincent: Oh, right. Yelisha, I got some new things to talk about. But I don’t want these two listening, alright?
The Box Girl and Skittles walked far while looking at them. Skittles snuggles around the Box Girl’s legs. He has taken a liking to her, but she gives no response.
Yelisha: These memories are less vague than the first ones you’ve seen. You must be getting closer, or at least somewhere on the tracks to seek what all of these mean.
Vincent: Yeah. I’m still annoyed the Creator isn’t even here yet. I mean, I guess we did start moving to different places way too fast. So maybe we kind of delayed her arrival?
Yelisha: Possible. But still, a depressing childhood. Inevitably, each life starts differently from another. But what could be the problem? Is the father abusive? Does she not make friends with others? Is her sister the cause? Dwelling in darkness, they try to reach out to her when this family is concerned. Yet, she is likely the one refusing help. And what is this power she speaks of?
Vincent: I guess it helps her do homework shit. But I guess I need to do more mature stuff to get the next PTSD episode.
Yelisha: As your essence core has told you, proceed with caution. The creator needs you to be alive. And I shall do my best to assist you, no matter how dire the situation may be. I must admit my failure to save you during the recent side quest; I will prevent this event from repeating itself. The inevitable remains, but you have proven to me that it can be prevented. Changing my perspective on existing. I am grateful I have found something I tried to resist once. Never have I understood until you led me to this path of eternal suffering. Thank you.
Vincent: Um... I didn’t even ask. But, ok.
The Box Girl stares curiously from a distance without hearing the conversation.
An Hour Has Passed - The Holy Armory...
Darliene: Hey, you must be Exo. We haven’t met yet. I’m Darliene, the hooded girl who helped you guys at the Ice Barrier Gate III.
Exo: Wut, we already did! And also, I didn’t ask who you are!
Darliene: I meant “haven’t properly MET yet.”
Exo: Oh, really? What did you even do? Let me die and shit?
Darliene: Technically, yes. But all of you were probably dead anyway if I hadn’t come.
Exo: The fuck are you yappin about?
Spikeball: It may be true. Yelisha confirmed that she is a time traveler and found no lies.
Exo: For real?
Spikeball: She is also the one who sent Vincent on this journey. The main reason we all met and are here now.
Exo: WHAT?! NO SHIT! So you’re saying I would still be destroying planets and acting like a dumbass dog with stupid Wyatt without this bitch?! What the hell!
Darliene: Uh, what did you just call me? Can’t you at least say thank you?
Exo: Amogus.
She gets irritated. Her dark purple aura begins to emit.
Tokou: H-Hey, calm down. Exo is always like that. He is quirky, but he is smart. Well, with Spikeball accompanying him at least.
Exo: Oh, hell naw. Amma slap that banana peel hair of yours and make you bald!
Tokou: Aha... Haha... Yeah... Good one, Exo.
Exo: I’m serious, bruh.
He spawns coded razors around him.
Tokou: Crap.
Yelisha: There is no need for that.
Tokou: Phew, thanks, Yelisha. Without you, I would be-
Yelisha: Instead, wrapped Spikeball on the tip of his hair. The spikes should eventually tear his hair apart without killing him.
Tokou: GAH! DARLIENE, SAVE ME!
He jumps to her, but she takes one step back, and Tokou misses, hitting the ground hard.
Zinn: Can you stop bugging around? We’ve finished the preparations. Vice Duka is about to finish his.
Exo: Whatever, bruh.
Zinn: You have one crazy team. I don’t even know how you built this.
Vincent: Me neither. All I did was fall from a big ass tree, and that was it.
May: Wow, you guys are incredible...! I’m so glad I got to be a part of it.
Skittles: Bark! Bark!
Chelsea: Yeah, so glad I’m “not” in good shape! YOU PLACED THE FOUNDATION LEG BACKWARDS!
May: Oh, sorry.
Chelsea: Now you have to pull everything out and put it back correctly.
Aiwan:*sigh*I’ll help only if you stop complaining.
The forge doors open. Steam and angelic dusts flowed out. Someone ascends in a lift and walks out. An armor of divine blessing, purpose to carry out honor and justice. Bestowed upon an outcast who has the almighty will to seek the truth behind The Existing.
Vincent: Was the narration really necessary?
VICE DUKA 3.0
May: WOAH!!! Dukins, you look amazing!
Tokou: Yeah, it’s like the old one but cooler!
Exo: I see more spikes.
Vincent: You really like having three-joint legs, huh?
Vice Duka: It’s how I’ve been fighting all this time. A style of flexibility.
Vincent: Okay, bro.
May: Some of it, like the spooky wings, was my idea, hehe...
Vice Duka: I’ve also added new provisions. It would be best to show them during combat.
Minutes have passed...
While fixing Chelsea, May noticed a piece of organic material within her metal pieces.
May: Hey, um... Is this normal for X-bots?
Chelsea:*gasp*NO! Don’t mind about that. It’s nothing...
May: Okay...
Aiwan: (...)
Main Hall...
Angela: ...
Vice Duka: I can’t tell for sure if I should still trust him. I’m only finding the truth behind the existing by my own will, and for my people.
Angela: ZDF... He was quite arrogant. But even he knows what is right and wrong. There must have been a reason for terminating the assassins. Regardless, he has ceased to exist. Perhaps the answer can still be discovered in due time.
Vice Duka: I see...
Angela: It has been forever... friend... Even when you are from a different era, you were able to reach what is left of that prime. I yearn for a reunion with older friends. How is the defect doing?
Vice Duka: As I have said, she tried to kill me, but eventually we realized we were both victims of whatever ZDF’s game was. Aside from that, she is recovering from her injuries at Vrotic City. It’s nice seeing her soft side for once. Most of the time, she destroys me. I wish to make up time with her while I’m on this journey.
Angela: Mm, I never thought I’d hear her be that emotional. Impressive. The other Foundational Gods never appreciated her fondness for them, but I saw it differently. It’s all thanks toAdatathat she made it this far.
Vice Duka: Adata? If I’m not mistaken... That’s...
Angela: The most powerful Foundational Godly Being to ever exist. The God of Infinity. When a young student drew the very first original asterist, she became one with it, creating Asterika. Adata detected this strange power and found her. Due to her inconvenient mortal conditions, she became a defect instead of an average Foundational Godly Being. Despite this, Adata accepted her the way she is and took her into his side.*sigh*Unfortunately, everyone already knew about the Foundational War. Adata was the savior, at the cost of his existence. Asterika had mental breakdowns for years. But she was able to get to a stable status with the help of ZDF. It’s a shame that things did not go as thought either. And with those suspicions you’ve told me, I am not in a right to understand what she is going through.
Vice Duka: How...? If Adata is the God of Infinity... How did something manage to defeat him permanently?!
An eagle scream is heard around the Xeraphial Throne. Winston slitters to the Main Hall.
Winston: Evil King is on the move, my lady!
Angela: Let us discuss this another time.
Vice Duka: We’ll take care of this.
Angela: Alright. Do what you must, don’t act recklessly.
Everyone gathers.
Vice Duka: It’s time to go!
Vincent: Finally, some action.
Winston: We’d better get going to the Site Tower as well.
Tokou: Good luck, guys!
Chelsea: I feel so stiff, but it will do.
May: Yay, let’s do this!
To Be Continued...
