The Little Girl’s Dream

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful little girl who loved to play in the rain.

Raindrops danced through her hair and rested gently on her small face as she laughed and ran beneath the gray sky. She was happy—truly happy—because, for the first time in what felt like forever, she felt free.

So, the little girl continued playing.

She kept running through the rain, laughing and spinning, because her mother had not come looking for her as she usually did.

Time passed.

The rain continued to fall.

Then, suddenly, a terrible fever swept through her small body.

She began to shiver.

The warmth in her body disappeared, replaced by a deep and frightening cold.

Scared and exhausted, the little girl hurried home.

“Mama?” she called as she stepped inside.

There was no answer.

She looked around the house.

“Mama?”

Again, silence.

Fear slowly filled her heart.

She searched from room to room, calling for her mother again and again.

“Mama! Where are you?”

But no one answered.

The house was silent.

Her little heart trembled with fear. She could not understand why her mother was not there.

Then suddenly—

Something cold touched her face.

The little girl gasped.

Her eyes flew open.

And she realized that everything had been a dream.

A dream from her childhood.

She was no longer a little girl.

Years had passed.

She was now a grown woman, with perhaps everything she had once dreamed of having.

Yet that dream had left her heart restless.

She could not forget the fear she had felt—the fear of searching for her mother and finding only silence.

So, with trembling hands, she reached for her phone and called her mother.

After a few moments, she heard the familiar voice she had missed so dearly.

“Mom...” she whispered. “I haven't seen you in such a long time.”

Her mother gave a soft laugh.

“Oh, my daughter,” she said warmly. “You have grown up so much. But whenever you call me like that, you still sound like my little girl.”

Then her mother's voice grew gentle with concern.

“Is something wrong? Has something happened?”

The woman fell silent for a moment.

A small smile appeared on her lips as tears filled her eyes.

Then, softly, she said,

“Mom... no matter how old I become, I will always be your little girl.”

For a moment, there was silence.

And in that moment, she understood something she had always known but had somehow forgotten.

We may grow older.

We may travel far from home.

We may build new lives and become stronger with every passing year.

But in our mother's heart, some things never change.

No matter how old we become...

No matter how much life changes us...

We will always remain—

her little girl.
