Chapter 1

“Oh my God!! I’m late again. Alex will definitely kill me. This fucking alarm isn’t doing its job. I need to do my homework too before Alex gets here.

“Kelvin!!” Alex is here. Get your ass downstairs right now.”

That must be my mother calling me. I don’t think that woman knows how to talk properly. She’s always screaming here and there.

I rushed into the bathroom to do the necessary things and put on my pink jeans and white crop top, which my mom got for me yesterday. Yeah, you heard me right… “crop top.”

I need to look good because today is the start of a new semester after the last holiday. I was actually excited about going back to school. A new semester meant new drama, new memories, and hopefully, new people.

I rushed downstairs and saw Alex with my mom. They were literally glaring hard at me.

“Good morning, Mom.”

“Hey, Alex.” I waved at him, but all I got in response from both of them was silence.

“Get your little ass in the car, princess,” Alex said sarcastically.

The only thing that guy is good at is getting on my nerves.

I kissed my mom goodbye and took my toast along with me. Alex opened the front door for me as I got into the car.

“We are always late because of you. Can’t you just, for once, wake up early?” Alex complained.

“Durr, I didn’t ask you to pick me up. You should have just gone to school without me,” I replied.

Alex and I are childhood friends. We have been friends since we were born. We do everything together. We went to the same junior school, attended the same church, and we are always together.

He was the first person I came out to.

Wait… did I forget to mention I’m gay?

Yeah, I am.

I was scared of how Alex was going to react at first, but when I told him, I realized I was just overthinking because he accepted me with open arms.

Honestly, I don’t know what I would have done without him. He has always been there for me, even when I’m being annoying, which is basically all the time. But that doesn't mean he is not an asshole, trust me... He is. But I wonder how I would have lived my life without him. My mom do tease me about me liking him,but I don't like him that way,I just love him as my best friend, that's all.

Okay, that’s enough about Alex and me.

Jeez, we’re here already.

Heritage High School.

I love it here. I can’t wait to make new friends and probably get myself a boyfriend. 😉

“My future boyfriend, here I come……”

Alex glanced at me from the driver’s seat.

“What?” I asked.

“Nothing.”

He looked away and started the car again.

I shrugged. Whatever. I had more important things to think about.

Like finding my future boyfriend.

I grabbed my bag and stepped out of the car, completely unaware that this semester was going to be very different from what I had imagined.
