THE GIRL IN RED
- Gunshot
The sound of a gunshot tore through the abandoned factory. An elderly man-perhaps in his sixties....
collapsed.
The girl stood over him in silence.
She entered the factory with a white gown but, now her once-white dress was stained red, a cruel contrast against the darkness surrounding her. She stared at the man, her face unreadable. Then, without warning, a single tear slipped from her eye and traced its way down her cheek.
Why was she crying?
She didn't know. Or perhaps she simply refused to admit the answer.
With a numbness that felt almost unnatural, she dragged his body into the corner of the factory and poured petrol around him.
Before leaving, she stopped.
For one last time, she looked back at him.
Her eyes were empty. Yet beneath that emptiness lived an anger so deep it had consumed everything else.
"Letting you die like this is the biggest mercy I could ever give you."
Her voice was flat. Lifeless.
She walked away, her white dress now almost entirely red. There were stains on her face, too, but she didn't bother wiping them away.
Instead, she brushed a single drop from her finger, studying it for a moment before bringing it to her lips.
A bitter smile slowly appeared.
"No wonder he's such a scumbag," she murmured. "Even his blood tastes like factory waste."
But who was he?
The answer came later. His death consumed every headline. The internet exploded. Television channels repeated his name without end. Newspapers printed his face across their front pages.
Everyone was asking the same question:
Who could possibly murder a man like him?
Because the dead man wasn't just anyone. He was Zane Hong. The owner of the Hong Group. A man powerful enough to control lives with a single word. A man with enemies everywhere and secrets buried even deeper.
-So why had a simple girl in a bloodstained white dress chosen to become his executioner?
-Why the white dress?
-What is her gain?
-How did she managed to lure Zane in the factory?
- What is their past?
And more importantly...
-What could Zane Hong have done to make her believe that death was mercy?
