THE CHILD OF THE GODS
The Child of the Gods
The gods had always watched the human world from above.
They watched humanity build kingdoms, wage wars, fall in love, and destroy itself.
But there was one thing they could not allow to spread unchecked.
Demons.
Creatures that hid among humans, feeding on darkness and turning the living against one another.
So the gods made a decision.
They would send someone.
Not an army.
Not a warrior.
A child.
Six years ago—no.
Twelve years ago, a little girl appeared beneath the moonlit sky.
She had silver-white hair, unusual violet bangs, and dark tips that seemed almost black beneath the night.
Her name was Seraphina Veyra.
She was six years old when the gods gave her a single command.
Destroy them.
She never questioned it.
She never feared them.
And she never showed mercy.
Year after year, Seraphina hunted the demons hiding within the human world. While other children learned their first words, she learned the names of her enemies. While other children played, she trained.
By eighteen, she had become something the demons feared more than death itself.
The Queen of Chaos.
Cold.
Intelligent.
Unforgiving.
Untouchable.
Or so everyone believed.
Until the gods sent her to a school.
Seraphina stood before the enormous academy gates, staring at the students laughing and talking around her.
Her expression remained completely blank.
“This is ridiculous.”
After twelve years of hunting demons, she had been given a new mission.
Attend school.
Apparently, the gods had decided that she needed to experience “normal human life.”
She sighed.
If only they knew how little she cared about being normal.
