Chapter 1

Nobody , Perfect

I want to end him, see him die again for the one last time.Hope he has zero glue walls right now.

“Mr Vihan.”

I looked up at a lady with a smile as long as it would soon tear her face off.I never wanted to show her the anger and never ending sadness of losing the last round of 1vs1 with Zayroxyro123. I forced a smile which absolutely looked fake.

“Yes ma’am.”

“Sir, Your room is ready and there is the key card.”

She obviously sounded nervous, excited and envious. I can clearly see jumping and saying ‘he talked to me.’ Behind my back as I walked past her after getting the key card.

“ You could have told her a thank you.”

Well, the sound of my advice giving machine starting to tear my ears at 6 am in the morning is kind of annoying. I would have never hired him as my manager , if I knew he was a version of my grandmother in the body of a thirty year old man. I can’t fire him as a day without him nagging me seems to be night.

“I lost the game with Zayroxyro123 because of her .”

I scanned the key card and pressed the floor number on the lift. I give him a glance and could clearly see the anger filled in his bombastic side eye.

“Are you serious right now! , I know you are a senseless kid who was accidentally born to be a major now but still should not be playing games when you are in a public place.”

A significantly large amount of saliva rain reached my face and a wiped in my hands and signed

As the lift opened , doubting the fact if I’m his employer I said in a low tone

“I became a major three years ago.”

“ Oh really, that doesn’t make any difference.”

He snatched the card from me and opened the door, I followed him like a scared puppy and landed on the bed without making a sound.

“ You really want to go home , leaving me like this.”

“ Eww ! Stop being a baby. There is a freaking high chance for us to get gay allegations soon if you are being such a clingy little baby.”

“ Nobody is here, I’m just sad about your long leave and bro!! You are not my type even if I was gay.”

He smirked and turned to leave

“ You will be fine.”

He turned on his heel and walked out, leaving the door to swing shut behind him.

Me being in a new city , with zero knowledge about the place , no manager, just me with a new song to be finished , singer to be found, Locations to be found. I remember being alone on the release of my first song when I used to do everything from scratch , being tensed about the views count on YouTube every single minute after uploading.

I smiled at the beautifully designed sealing of the hotel room and couldn’t think anymore as my eyes are no longer strong enough to be held open.

It’s 5 pm…

Literally alone = freedom ;

I am in traffic, not a surprise in the city that I’m in right now and I’m right about it. I can hear my last song being played somewhere near and could see a crowd on the sidewalk.I hope it’s a plaza.

Should I go watch it ?

If my manager was in the car , he would have kicked my ass even for thinking about being in a public place and inviting unwanted attention. But he is not here. I took my mask and cap from the bag and wore them. I grabbed my phone to pay the driver real quick and got out in the traffic and passed between two-three cars and some weird looking bikes to reach the sidewalk and I could hear my song loud enough to understand it would end soon and I should rush.

It’s not just a single person performance but I could see a lot of people dancing like crazy there. I have never been this happy as I could see them enjoying the core in it.

The lead dancer is a handsome guy and dances well. Now he is pulling the hands of a girl from the audience.

It’s so obvious that she is also a dancer , the black baggy cargo with hundred pockets, the golden waistband, the bandana.

She is pretty , has long wavy hair, dusty skin and a natural smile.

She was laughing with no concern for the cameras on her and danced along with him as if they practiced together, for a minute and then started moving their body as if she is made of rubber , twisting her legs and arms with a high speed. I know I’m staring but all are.

The song came to an end, and another began playing almost immediately. She stopped dancing, turning toward the lead dancer guy with a smile as she reached out to shake his hand.

I watched as he gestured toward her, his expression clearly asking what she was doing there. She answered with her hands, moving them in quick, familiar motions—not quite sign language, but enough to make her meaning obvious.

She pointed toward herself, then toward the phone, miming a recording.

She was there to shoot a reel. ( I am obviously going to stalk her but it’s been so long since I’ve been stalking someone and I lack skills now.)

The guy gave her a salute and waved his hands as she waved and got back into the crowd. And then as I followed her to the footpath, her wavy hair was flowing in the wind as she walked. Actually I have no idea if I could tell that she is walking cause I guess she is flowing. She is smiling bright as if there is someone who was smiling at her. She stopped at an opening to a street and budged into the residential site nearby and took the stairs.

‘Wait ! I’m following her, I couldn’t get a grip on things . I never even thought of following her Instagram, still I ended up in front of her place.

Why?? What on the earth is happening

I should head back to the hotel !

And work my ass off !!

Not to be in a melo mood !!!

INSANE ALGORITHM ;

“ No.”

“ But the place seems too good, in the pictures.” The disappointment of Mia is correctly reflected on the length of the ‘too good.’

“ Mia, it’s not about the pictures or the place . I don’t think it’s time to decide on the location. I’m not going to say this again , but beware of the hierarchy.”

My harsh words would have made her regret the fact that she joined the team of my channel as the visual curator.

“Sorry , I have been a little overwhelmed.”

she has cursed me in her mind for sure but showed the professional side but there is a thing that Mia is a gift because despite her rushing behaviour and senseless actions, she is a good team member. She lives in Pinterest and her feed is divine and that kind of has a lot to do with the origin of views.

“Stop rushing, let’s do it as neat as possible.I would buy you that Gucci thing, for real this time.” I made sure my voice is calm that I could never afford to lose some people in my team.

“And I will brag about you for sure , ok bye then and please don’t make any nuisance and wear a mask while rooming around." She is not faking the excitement and is seriously concerned about me.

“Byeeee.”

I lay back on my bed, pulling the white sheets over me until I was comfortably tucked beneath them. With nothing better to do, I opened my phone and started scrolling through reels.

Then I came across a video.

A girl with wavy hair was dancing, her movements soft and effortless. The whole video was washed in shadows, almost as though a dark filter had been draped over it, giving the scene a quiet, dreamy quality.

She was her.

The girl I had seen on the street. I would recognise her anywhere.

I opened her profile and went through her posts, her reels—basically everything I could find. Her bio said she was a choreographer, and, apparently, she was a little famous too. At least, that was what I gathered from the number of people who seemed to know her.

I stalked her profile a little too thoroughly.

Thoroughly enough to find out that she was here for some big project and was currently living somewhere nearby.

Well… I knew exactly where she lived.

I had followed her there the other day to her place like a shameless creature..

This freaking algorithm is either helping me or distracting me from work

Well, I’m not going to follow or Dm her anyway

I’m not that cheap..

(3 days passed)

I’m not a person who would like to switch places of stay frequently, but yes I need a change . My brain is technically not working in the hotel , I do strongly believe the creative mindset is rooted by survival , not convenience.

“ Do you seriously think it’s a gentleman's behaviour to move in with that girl ?”

There was a sharpness in his tone, as though the very thought of having to say it had offended him.

I looked at my manager and flashed an exaggeratedly innocent smile, as if I had done nothing wrong.

“It’s for our work that I could write and compose better in other environment.”

“You really want me to believe it and vihan , she might not be aware of the fact that her new flatmate is”

“Me vihan , to whose songs , she dances everyday.” I could feel my legs up in the air of my excitement

“ Everyday ?? .. whatever.

You are a man who’s moving in and she has no idea about it. This is going to be bad when she files a case for stalking.”

“Can you just shut up and drive the car?”

I am actually worried about everything but the one thing which bothers me is that I’m blushing on the thought of going there . The owner of the flat was an old friend’s dad and a chill guy who managed to make her agree to not asking details about her new flatmate.I feel like i am going to burst out right now. She danced to my song , so she would know me and yeah I’m famous..

The sound of clearing throat , awakened me.

“Get out . vihan , I have been with you for everything this day . So be a good guy and behave.”

“ yeah yeah yeah , can I please leave ?”

I got my stuff and bags from the truck and closed the doors of the car as I stepped away he called out to me;

“ What was her name?”

I looked back and smiled to say , “sitara”

…………

I stepped into the room. The door was unlocked. As I walked toward the kitchen, I could see her. She was still in her pajamas. Her wavy hair was wet, and the ends were still dripping with water. Her dusky complexion gave her an almost divine beauty, like that of a goddess. There were droplets of water scattered across her face, sparkling like tiny diamonds .She was eating something—it was a piece of bread. The moment she noticed me, she froze. She stood there, completely caught off guard, unable even to pull away the piece of bread that was hanging from the corner of her mouth.

I had a strong feeling I was about to burst into a thousand pieces. I could barely contain the excitement building inside me. Still, I somehow pulled myself together and tried to ask her something.

But no.

Not a single word formed in my mind, let alone made it out of my mouth. My brain had suddenly decided to abandon me at the worst possible moment.

I was going to struggle.

Thankfully, I had some time. She was standing in shock ,which meant I had a few more precious moments to figure out what the hell I was going to say.

“ Hai , Sitara…”

Yes, I tried my best not to make it obvious that I could probably say her name even in my sleep. Instead, I put on an exaggerated look of concentration, pretending I was struggling to remember it.

Everything I knew about her was her name—and the fact that she was a dancer and a choreographer. I had stalked the hell out of her Instagram, but there was barely anything beyond her dance videos. Nothing about where she was from, where she lived, the people around her, or anything remotely personal.

She was clearly a private person. Her Instagram showed exactly what she wanted the world to see: dance, choreography, and nothing else.

I was still waiting for her reply to my “hi.” She looked stunned to see me.

I knew it.

She knew me. Of course she did. I was famous.

Yes!

But the very next second, I saw her running toward me. She stopped right in front of me and stared at me as though she couldn’t believe what she was seeing—as if I had somehow walked straight out of a dream.

The shock in her eyes hadn’t faded. But there was something else there—something I couldn’t quite place. Her gaze hardened as she looked me up and down, almost aggressively.

“Who are you?” she demanded. “And why the hell are you a guy?

She started freaking out. Turning her back to me, she hurried toward her room and grabbed her phone. Her fingers moved frantically across the screen as she called the flat owner, muttering something under her breath that I couldn’t make out.

At first, she was murmuring something to the flat owner, her voice too low for me to make out. Then, gradually, I could hear her more clearly.

“Why are you even doing this to me? Why is my flatmate a guy?You told me someone was coming! I thought it was a girl!”

After that, there was silence.

For a while, she simply stood there, listening to whatever the flat owner was saying on the other end. I watched her expression change with every passing second.

Then, without saying another word, she slowly collapsed onto the sofa.

I had set my things aside and simply watched her. I could see it all over her face—disappointment, anger, and confusion.

She was disappointed that I was her new flatmate. And honestly, I couldn’t blame her. A guy suddenly turning up as the new flatmate of a girl wasn’t exactly the situation anyone would be thrilled about.

My Manager was right.

I sat down on the sofa beside her and glanced at her face. Her eyes were closed, like she was still trying to process everything that had just happened.

“You didn’t know I was a guy, did you?” I asked.

She simply nodded.

“Yeah…” I said, trying to make things less awkward. “I’m actually a pretty decent guy. And I’m sure I won’t disturb you.”

After hearing my words, she turned towards me and looked straight into my eyes. She smiled, then closed her eyes for a moment before saying

“It’s not about you disturbing me, bro.I freak out easily on people not communicating things to me.see , I pay the rent almost on time. Yeahh!! sometimes I would be late but this fellow keeps treating me like I’m his toxic ex or something.”

Bro!! That’s hurts but should keep the cool

“I’m so sorry.”

She looked at me, but not calmly. There was something in her expression, as if something was bothering her.

“you don’t have to be sorry about it.”

Then she smiled , I am not that cheesy to say I could melt in it but yes there is something genuine about her smile

“It’s not your fault anyway. So… hi, Mr. New flatmate and You kind of seem really similar to me.”

I looked at her face. She seemed genuinely curious.

Somewhere inside me, though, something hurt. She didn’t know me. I had assumed she would, especially after she danced to my songs and I even bragged to my manager about how famous I was.

Oh God. That was embarrassing.

I didn’t let any of it show on my face, but somehow, I couldn’t bring myself to meet her eyes. Instead, my gaze drifted towards the edge of the sofa as I answered, “I’m actually a creator. You might know me. I write and compose music.”

She is still confused and is looking at me

“Tum Tak is one of my songs”

Please, catch on that you have been dancing to it , the last day.

She turned towards me with a smile, her eyes widening in realization.

Oh my God. Thank God. She finally recognized me.

Okay, okay. I tried to keep myself composed.

“Who? Who?” she asked, almost breathlessly. “I know you. I mean, I know your channel. I have… Oh my goodness, I can’t believe it. You—you wrote it?”

She paused, looking at me with disbelief.

“But I don’t know your name. I’m so sorry about that.”

I couldn’t help it. I couldn’t even understand why I was getting this happy over a single person recognizing me. It was ridiculous.

The feeling was almost the same as when my YouTube channel hit its first million views. That kind of happiness—the kind that makes you want to freeze the moment and stay in it for a little longer.

And now, somehow, all it took was one person recognizing me.

I gathered myself, trying to pull my thoughts back together, and finally spoke.

“Vihan. That’s my name.”

After telling her my name, I looked at her face. Her eyes shifted to the side and then down, as if she was taking a moment to process it. She blinked, closed her eyes briefly, then opened them again.

Then, with a small smile, she held out her hand.

“Sitara Ann. I’m a choreographer and I’m working in a movie right now.”

I widened my eyes dramatically, pretending to be surprised.

“Oh my God! I can’t believe my flatmate is working in the film industry. That’s amazing!”

She narrowed her eyes at me, clearly catching the sarcasm in my voice. But instead of calling me out, she simply smiled.

“I’m actually really glad I got into this film” she said. “And honestly, you’re way more famous than I am. I still have so much more I want to do. I really want to work on more projects in the future.”

I didn’t mean to be sarcastic. I just really wanted to impress her. But somehow, her innocence won me over all over again.

And now, I was genuinely curious about her.

Before, all I wanted was to know her. To be around someone who loved my music, someone who understood what I put into it. But somewhere along the way, that feeling had changed.

Now, I didn’t just want to know her.

I wanted to know what it would feel like to like her.

Oh boy. Chill. Chill.

What am I even doing right now?

I’m not used to being this dramatic about anything in my life. Oh my God, I need to relax.

I’m just curious. That’s all. I’m going to live with her for a few days, and then I’m leaving. That’s it.

Simple.

Except… she’s so cute.

I mean—sweet. She’s sweet.

somewhere there, near to releasing it

(On my bed)

I swear to God, this is the last time I’m calling him. If he doesn’t pick up this time, I’m going to lose it.

“Oh, come on! Pick up my freaking call!”

Finally, my manager answered.

“Hello?” I said, trying to sound calm.

Honestly, I’d been shouting at my phone for so long that I’m pretty sure he could’ve heard me even without the call.

He was rude enough not to even say hello. The moment he picked up, he barked, “What do you want, kid?”

I said nothing.

Yes. I finally got him.

He seemed to realize something was off, took a breath, and tried to sound calmer.

“What’s wrong?”

“She doesn’t know me,” I said, unable to hide the disappointment in my voice.

“You asked her?” my manager shot back.

Even through the phone, I could hear the disbelief in his voice.

“No, no, it’s not like that,” I quickly explained. “That’s not even the problem. She didn’t know who I was.”

There was a pause.

“She didn’t know you?”

“No!” I groaned. “I mean, I thought she would. She dances to my songs, she literally told me she’s a fan, and I just assumed she’d know my name. I’m kind of famous, you know?”

I could hear him trying not to laugh.

“But she didn’t,” I continued, feeling my ego take another hit. “She knew my music. She knew my channel. She just… didn’t know me.”

That was when he completely lost it.

He burst out laughing on the other end.

I hung up the call and stared at the ceiling fan spinning above me.

There was no A/C, my work was not finished, and the girl I was starting to like had just made it clear that she doesn’t know me.

I felt a strange heaviness in my chest.

Seriously… What in the world could be worse?

Suddenly, I heard someone drumming on my door.

And I knew exactly who it was.

I walked towards the door slowly, already planning the perfect K-drama moment. I’d open it quickly, she’d stumble forward, and—boom—she’d fall straight into my arms.

Perfect.

I opened the door.

She didn’t fall into my arms.

Damn it.

But she was standing right there with the prettiest smile, still in her pyjamas. Her now-defined, wavy hair framed her face perfectly, somehow making her look even more charming.

She was smiling like a kindergarten kid who had just made a new friend.
