The Path We Choose

Every Choice Writes a Story

Chapter 1: The Unexpected Encounter

It was evening.

A small bakery located on a busy city road was filled with the usual sounds of customers laughing and talking, along with the delicious aroma of freshly baked cakes.

Inside the bakery kitchen, Sri was working together with her friend Keerthi.

“Keerthi, this cake order has to be ready correctly. We need to deliver it on time,” Sri said.

“Looking at how much attention you’re giving that cake, anyone would think you’re the owner of this bakery,” Keerthi teased with a laugh.

Sri laughed too.

She was completely focused on her work. Her eyes were fixed on the cake baking inside the oven.

Outside, a few customers were sitting at the tables, eating and talking normally.

But that peaceful atmosphere didn’t last for long.

Suddenly, a loud noise came from outside.

“Is there a fight?” Keerthi asked in shock as she rushed out of the kitchen.

The scene in front of her left her stunned.

There was complete chaos outside the bakery.

A few law college students were standing on one side, while three masked men were attacking them from the other side.

Nobody could understand what was happening.

Keerthi stood there, staring at the scene in fear.

But Sri, who was still inside the kitchen, had no idea what was happening outside.

She didn’t come out. Instead, she continued watching the cake inside the oven.

Just then, one of the boys involved in the fight suddenly ran toward the kitchen, trying to escape.

A masked man followed closely behind him.

At that exact moment, a box inside the kitchen lost its balance and fell toward Sri.

Sri saw it coming and froze in fear.

The next second...

Someone grabbed her hand and pulled her away quickly.

Sri stumbled to one side.

The box missed her and crashed onto the floor.

She slowly turned around.

A masked boy was standing in front of her.

Without saying a word, he turned back toward the fight.

For a few moments...

Even that small space inside the kitchen turned into a battlefield.

As he tried to stop the other boy, his mask slipped slightly.

Sri’s eyes immediately fell on his face.

It was...

Tharun.

Outside, his friends Vikram and Barath were still fighting.

The three of them eventually managed to put an end to the chaos.

Slowly, the noise began to fade.

Tharun turned toward the kitchen.

Sri was still standing there, unable to understand what had just happened, staring at him.

He smiled slightly and picked up a piece of cake from the nearby table.

He took a small bite.

Sri stared at him, even more confused.

Who is this guy...? she wondered.

Tharun looked at her for a moment.

He didn’t say anything.

Instead, he put his mask back on.

Then, he walked away with Vikram and Barath.

Sri remained standing there, completely lost in her thoughts.

Until that day, he had been nothing more than a stranger with an unfamiliar face...

She had no idea that this unexpected encounter was about to become a new chapter in her life.

Sometimes, one unexpected meeting becomes the beginning of a beautiful journey. ✨
