I woke up after a sleepover with my best friend.
I was the first one up. It was five in the morning, and sunrise was just about to start.
I'd known her for a while, and I liked to hug her and kiss her forehead.
She was so sweet. Her personality was lovely, a mix of sweet and hardly any sass, she loved to joke, and somehow it seemed a bit adorable.
She had this gorgeous light tan skin, if I remember correctly. I loved her long dark brown hair and her shimmering eyes. I noticed that when she talked about certain things, her eyes would sparkle like she was looking at a whole galaxy.
I could give her any nickname and she’d love it and smile as if it perfectly described her.
She was two years younger than me.
She reminds me of the sky. Like the sunrise, she’d be bright and happy. Like the moon, she’d be calmer and a bit sad. Like a star, she felt kind of alone.
I hated that she was alone. I wanted to change it.
