Chapter Two — The Warning
Lena woke up uneasy, the dream still ringing in her ears. At school, she couldn't focus on anything.
Finally, during lunch, she told her best friend about the dream.
Her friend laughed it off, saying it was just her imagination.
But Lena knew better.
Later, she rode her bike to the bridge. Everything looked completely ordinary. Kids were giggling nearby, cars rolled past, and nothing seemed unusual.
Just as Lena was about to leave, she spotted Ethan—the boy who had been watching her.
He walked toward her.
“What are you doing here?” he asked.
Lena hesitated.
Then, after a long pause, she whispered, “Tomorrow, this bridge is going to collapse.”
That moment sealed their uneasy alliance.
And perhaps, it was the beginning of something neither of them expected.
