Chapter 1
1
The other month I saw what was left of the family fiat 500 as well as my older brother. His face charred, his cheek hanging off his jaw like a drumstick. The melted plastic and the nauseating metal blood vapours. I smiled when I saw an unaffected, empty bottle of my mum’s white wine.
I’d still rather be him than anything like my TV addicted, uptight parents. Him and any of his other no good, charred friends. How many times have my parents been suspended? Beat the fuck out some poor guy until you were worried he was dead? I believe there are better and worse ways to live and I believe most people are too pussy to choose the path that got my brother dead. The amount of indignity I feel getting ordered around at 16 and then I realise that it never fucking ends. Everyone is inferior to someone else and how can you be free if some ugly cunt who doesn’t get enough is ordering you to do some absolutely meaningless task?
The best part of AJ dying was the girls it got me. First day back from Easter holidays, I ask to go in, got my perfume, gelled my hair and I’d barely got through the school gates before these stunning girls engulfed me.’I’m so sorry.’... ‘Are you okay?’. Oh my days, trying to stop myself grinning as this girl in the year above Alicia or Alice or something (huge jugs) grabbed my bicep. AJ would understand.
Three months go by and my brother’s tragic death got me invited four parties.
