Chapter 1

One year, the president of the football federation made a new decision: every girl would be given the opportunity to try out for a football team, and those who passed the test would be able to officially play for their team. But before Lara’s story with football began, another story had started years earlier.

Lara’s mother was living in Spain when she gave birth to her first child. She named him Omar. He was a very small baby, with blue eyes, fair skin, and blond hair. His mother held him in her arms and looked at him lovingly until she noticed a small birthmark on his foot. A few moments later, the mother felt weak and fainted. When she woke up, her baby was no longer beside her. They told her that Omar had died after birth and that his heartbeat had become very weak, and the doctors had been unable to save him. She could not believe what she had been told. She broke down crying, feeling that something was not right. Three months later, she returned to Morocco, but she never forgot Omar.

A year later, she gave birth to a daughter. Some time later, another baby girl was born, and she named her Lara. Lara was a very beautiful baby, with fair skin and features that strongly resembled her brother Omar. When her mother held her for the first time, she noticed something that immediately reminded her of her son: Lara had a small birthmark on her foot, exactly like the one Omar had. The mother began to cry, so her husband hugged her and tried to comfort her. She held her little daughter tightly, as if she had found something of the child she had lost in Lara’s features.

The years passed, and Lara grew up. When she was four years old, she was a very intelligent and energetic girl. Whenever someone told her, “Don’t do that,” she would sometimes do the opposite out of curiosity and childish mischief. Despite her playful nature, she was kind and lovable.

One day, little Lara was sitting with her parents in front of the television. A breaking news report appeared on the screen: a man who had broken into a hospital in Spain years earlier had been arrested. It was discovered that he had taken several newborn babies from the hospital and placed them in an orphanage. Lara’s mother froze in front of the television. It was the same hospital where Omar had been born. The journalist then said that nothing bad had happened to the children and that they were all safe. They had simply been living in an orphanage. The mother felt as if the world had stopped around her. Omar had not died... The son she had cried over for years was alive. But she did not know where he was or how she could find him. Her feelings became a mixture of indescribable happiness and deep sadness; she was happy to know that her son was alive, but she still had no idea where he was.

From that day on, Omar’s story was no longer just an old memory for the family. It became a journey to find their missing son.
