The First meeting
This is a story for everyone who believes there is no love waiting for them.
Because love is already there—somewhere deep inside you, running quietly through your veins. The question is not always whether love will find you. Sometimes the question is whether, when it does, will you allow yourself to follow it or choose to walk away from it.
Sometimes we don’t see what is coming toward us.
And much later, we realize that it had been there all along.
It could be the kind of love you ignored.
The kind you never looked at twice.
The kind you never thought you wanted.
And somehow, one day, it becomes the kind you have.
We become so busy building our lives, chasing plans, fixing things, becoming better versions of ourselves, that we forget to look around. We forget that somewhere between all those ordinary days, something extraordinary can quietly enter our lives.
That is the strange thing about love.
It doesn’t always arrive when you are searching for it.
Sometimes it finds you when you aren’t looking at all.
And maybe that is exactly how life is supposed to be.
So until then, live your life. Work on yourself. Become the person you want to become. Find things that make you happy without waiting for someone else to bring that happiness to you.
And when love finally appears, perhaps you will realize that it wasn’t as far away as you once thought.
So relax.
Some things are not meant to be chased.
Sometimes, what your heart has been waiting for finds its own way to you.....
The day I saw him, it was just another busy evening.
At least, that was what I thought then.
I had no idea that an ordinary evening could turn into a memory I would carry with me for years—perhaps until death did its part. And do I want to forget it?
No.
I don’t think I ever want to forget that evening.
Sometimes I wonder why I can remember it so clearly. The smallest moments, the atmosphere, the way everything felt. It is almost as though that evening was captured somewhere behind my eyes. When I close them and think about it, I can still return there so completely that sometimes I have to open them again just to remind myself of where I am now.
Because reality is very different from the world that exists inside my head.
And maybe, just this once, I want to let that world remain there.
Untouched.
Safe somewhere deep inside me, where time cannot change it into the reality I live in today.
So I close my eyes again.
And I go back to the day it all started.
Back to the evening when, without realizing it, I was being given something I would never forget.
It started with a dance class.
Or maybe it started with his eyes.
Even now, I am not sure.
Maybe there was something about the way I could look into them. Maybe they reminded me of something I had known before. Maybe it was simply a feeling that I understood much later.
Whatever it was, there was something.
Something or maybe someone I still haven’t been able to forget.
But before I lose myself in that thought again, let me return to the beginning.
At one point in my life, I had simply had enough of everything.
The same routine. The same days. The same feeling of wanting something different but not really knowing what.
I wanted something new to explore.
Something that could belong only to me.
And then one day, I came across a pamphlet for a dance studio.
I looked through it casually at first.
Multiple timings.
Good. That meant I could fit it into my schedule without much trouble.
Nearby.
Even better. It was quite close to my house, so travelling wouldn’t be an issue either.
For once, something seemed easy enough to try without having to think too much about it.
Around that time, I had already decided that I wanted to add something new to my routine. I wanted to become a healthier version of myself, but more than that, I wanted something that could make me happy.
Something that could take my mind away from everything else for a while.
Dance had already been circling around my mind for some time.
And suddenly, this little pamphlet felt like the perfect opportunity.
Maybe I should try it.
I didn’t know then that something I had chosen simply to make my life a little different was about to change much more than my routine.
So one evening, without thinking too much about it, I changed into a nice gym outfit, packed what I needed, and went to the dance studio.
I didn’t expect anything from the evening.
I only thought I had found a new place where I could relax for a little while—at least until life gave me another one.
When I reached the studio, I realized it was hidden between all the tall buildings, surrounded by big trees and somehow separated from the chaos of the world outside. It felt like a little world of its own, one that could only be discovered once you stepped inside.
Cute, I thought.
I liked it already.
The entrance led downstairs, almost underground. As I opened the gate, a wind chime moved gently above me, filling the entrance with a soft, beautiful sound. It felt like a welcome, but also like a quiet announcement to everyone inside that someone new had just entered their little territory.
I walked ahead and that was when I saw the world inside.
Every room seemed to hold people with interests of their own—different classes, different movements, different little lives happening at the same time. There was something about the place that felt warm and private.
Maybe that was what I liked most about the underground studio.
The coziness.
It felt hidden from everything happening outside, almost as if the world could continue rushing above us while this little place remained untouched beneath it.
And somehow, I liked the thought of that.
It reminded me that even the things we keep buried inside our hearts can have a beautiful place to exist. Even the secrets we don’t always understand, even the ones that aren’t necessarily good or easy, can still find a quiet corner somewhere inside us and make a home of their own.
I headed further inside, only to realize that there was no one there to attend to me.
For a moment, I just stood there, looking around and wondering whom I was supposed to speak to.
And then I saw him.
A tall man, well-built and very clearly in shape, walked out of one of the classes. He was sweating, of course, probably from taking the session that had been going on inside.
There was nothing particularly attractive about him to me then. Nothing that made me stop or think twice.
He had probably noticed me coming in through the glass window of the classroom and stepped outside to see what I needed.
And that was it.
The first time I saw him.
No butterflies. No strange feeling telling me that this person was going to matter someday.
Just a man walking out of a dance class to attend to someone who had come looking for information.
Funny how some of the most important people in our lives can enter our stories so ordinarily.
He told me that the manager wasn’t there. Instead, he would be attending to me, trainer who was taking the classes came over to speak with me.
That was him.
We talked about the class timings and when I could start. He explained the plans to me, and after listening for a while, I chose one.
Then, mostly for fun, I asked him if there was any discount.
I already knew they weren’t running any offers at the time, so I wasn’t expecting anything.
He looked at me—really looked at me—and then, without seeming to think twice, he simply nodded.
And somehow, he gave me a discounted price.
For a moment, I was genuinely surprised.
I remember wondering how that had happened, but I wasn’t going to question something that had unexpectedly gone in my favour. I was simply happy.
Maybe unusually happy for something so small.
I told him I would start from the next day.
He simply nodded.
And that was it.
No dramatic conversation.
No extraordinary moment.
Nothing that would have made me believe I had just walked into a memory that would stay with me for years.
I stepped outside the studio and headed home.
My earbuds were in, music playing softly while I walked. I remember taking a deep breath and letting the evening air fill my lungs.
The air felt fresh.
The surroundings felt peaceful.
For some reason, everything seemed a little lighter that evening.
Maybe it was because I had finally done something for myself.
Maybe because I was excited to begin something new.
Or maybe there was something else waiting quietly beneath that happiness—something I couldn’t have understood yet.
All I knew was that I walked home feeling good.
And strangely, it had been a very long time since I had felt that way.
And somewhere behind me was a dance studio I thought I would return to simply to learn how to dance.
I didn’t know I had already taken the first step into a story I would spend years trying not to forget.
And that’s the first chapter done, guys.
Tell me how you liked it, and please give me your honest reviews.
I was actually writing something completely different before this—maybe a thriller—and then one fine day, this idea suddenly came to me. I started writing it without thinking too much about it, and somehow it began to feel like something I really wanted to share with you guys.
I don’t even know how or when it started, but now it refuses to leave me until I finish it completely.
I really tried to write a different genre from my first story, but somehow I ended up coming back to this kind of story again. I don’t know what to think of it anymore, but this genre clearly isn’t leaving me, guys. 😂
And maybe that’s okay.
Because writing this makes me happy, and I want to continue until this story reaches many more people.
Thank you so much for reading. It genuinely means a lot to me.
Love you guys.
