CHAPTER ONE: THE CONTRACT

"l can't wait! l'm so excited!"

Jing Jing smiled happily as she walked along the road. She had finally accomplished one of her biggest goals-completing her three year course in Achitecture at University.

After graduating, she had immediately started looking for a job. She wanted to work for one of the biggest companies dealing in achitecture and design.

The company was X-WELL.

Full of excitement and imagination, Jing Jing rode her bicycle towards X-Well Company.Luckly she had been offered a junior position in the Design Department.

As she approached the company, she started at the huge building in amazement.

Wow.

She had never seen anything like it before.

Suddenly_

WHOOSH!

A speeding drone flew toward her.

"Ah!"

Jing Jing panicked and lost her balance. Her bicycle swerved, and she fell onto the ground.

To make it worse, her bicycle landed on a nail.

CRACK!

The tire went flat.

A few scratches appared on her knees.

"Shit! Jing Jing groaned as she looked at her damanged bicycle.

"What a terrible day this is!"

She pushed herself up and dusted off her clothes.

Just then, a drone car that had been passing by the company compound stopped nearby. A man in a brown suit got out and immediately walked towards her.

"Are you okay?"

Jing Jing looked up.

Before she could answer, another man stepped out of the car.

He was wearing a black suit and black gloves.

He slowly removed his gloves and looked at his watch.

Jing Jing stared at him.

For real?

He was ridiculously handsome.

"Hold on," Jing Jing said, calling out to them as they started walking away.

The man in the brown suit turned around.

"l could use some help. Could you go back and learn to drive? You nearly spoiled my bike!"

The man in the black suit raised an eyebrow.

"First, you spoil my bike," Jing Jing continued angrily, " and now you're undermining it?"

She crossed her arms.

"Where are you going, and who do you think you are?"

The man looked at her as if she were amusing him.

Then Jing Jing noticed something.

The car.

Her eyes widened.

"seriously?"

She looked at the expensive car and then back at the man.

"This is the most expensive car l can even buy where l come from, and you nearly destroy my bicycle?"

The man said nothing.

Jing Jing's anger grew.

She stepped toward him confidently.

"Anyway, your most expensive car is nothing compared to my bike, My bike is the most precious thing l've ever had."

She folded her arms and gave him a proud smile.

Then, without waiting for a response, she turned around.

"Come on, l'm going for my interview,"

She walked toward the company entrance.

She had completely forgotten that the man she had just argued with was the CEO of where she was going.

Jing Jing entered the company hall with confidence.

However, the moment she stepped inside, she stopped.

The interior was magnificent.

The walls were beautifully designed, the lighting was perfect, and everything looked expensive.

Jing Jing looked around in amusement.

So this is X-Well. she whispered to herself.

She smiled.

I can't believe l'm actually going to work here.

As she continued walking through the hall, she suddenly felt someone tap her shoulder.

Jing Jing turned around.

It was a girl around her age.

The girl simply smiled.

"Are you called Jing Jing?" she asked.

Jing Jing frowned.

"Yes......How do you know my name?"

The girl smiled again.

"The CEO told me to keep in mind all the new interns and employees who will be starting in the company."

Jing Jing nodded slowly.

"Oooohh."

The girl looked at her.

"So this means you are like the new secretary?"

Jing Jing immediately shook her head.

"Noooo."

The girl looked confused.

"What do you mean by no?"

Jing Jing shrugged.

"l thought l was joining the Design Department."

The girl smiled.

"Actually, most of our CEO's secretaries are picked by him. They usually work for a month or sometimes a week before they quit."

Jing Jing's eyes widened.

"Why?"

The girl signed.

"Because the job is not easy."

She looked around before lowering her voice.

"Our CEO is very demanding."

Jing Jing swallowed.

Great.

She had just graduated from university. Found a job.

And now they were telling her that she might have to work directly for a difficult CEO.

The girl continued.

"But don't worry. You might be different."

Jing Jing forced a smile.

"l hope so."

The girl pointed towards the corridor.

"Your interview is that way."

Jing Jing nodded.

"Thank you"

She walked away, unaware that the CEO was already watching her from a distance.

The same man she had argued with outside.

The same man whose expensive car she had insulted.

And now.......

He was about to become her boss.

After the interview, Jing Jing was told that she had been accepted.

She couldn't believe it.

Finally, she had a job.

She was so excited that she almost forgot everything that had happened earlier.

That evening, she returned home and told her family about everything.

Everyone was happy for her.

But Jing Jing didn't know her new job was about to change her life completely.

The next morning, she arrived at the company early.

She stood outside for a while and took a deep breath.

"New job. New beginning."

She smiled.

"l can do this."

She walked into the company.

Then she haf a familiar voice behind her.

"You're early."

Jing Jing froze.

Slowly, she turned around.

Her eyes widened.

It was him.

The man from yesterday.

The man she insulted.

His look was calm.

Then he said.

"Come to my office."

Jing Jing stared at him.

Wait.....

She suddenly remembered what the girl had told her yesterday.

The CEO chooses his own secretaries.

Her eyes widened even more.

"Don't tell me........."

The man walked away without answering.

Jing Jing stood there in shook.

Then she heard the receptionist behind her.

"Excuse me, Are you Jing Jing."

She turned and nodded.

"So you're the one."

"Am the one what?"

"You're the CEO's new secretary."

Jing Jing's jaw dropped.

"What?!, am the what?."
