TWO DIVINES
There was something strange about meeting someone who carried the same name as you.
Two Divines.
Two people walking through the same university, living in the same environment, but somehow finding their way toward each other.
At first, she didn’t think much of him.
He was quiet. The kind of person who could sit in a room full of people and still somehow feel like he was in his own world. He didn’t talk too much, didn’t give everyone his attention, and had that calm, almost nonchalant expression that made it difficult to know what he was thinking.
But she noticed him.
And before she knew it, she was looking for him without realizing she was looking.
She was the first person to really get close to him in school. She talked to him, teased him, tried to make him comfortable, and slowly, little by little, he started letting her into his world.
There were conversations that lasted longer than they were supposed to.
There were looks that lasted a second too long.
There were moments when neither of them said anything, but somehow the silence didn’t feel awkward.
And then there was the way he looked at her.
She noticed.
Of course she noticed.
She liked him.
Not secretly. Not completely.
She was the kind of person who, when she knew she liked someone, would rather be honest than spend forever pretending.
So eventually, she told him.
She asked if they should date.
His answer was simple.
“Not yet.”
It could have hurt.
Maybe it did a little.
But she didn’t pressure him.
“Okay.”
And somehow, they continued.
Maybe they weren’t officially together.
But sometimes, what exists between two people doesn’t need a title to feel real.
Then came that evening.
They were walking together, talking about random things, laughing occasionally. The kind of ordinary moment that you don’t realize is special until much later.
She had wanted to kiss him for a long time.
But wanting something and actually doing it were two different things.
Her heart was beating faster.
She looked at him.
Then away.
Then back at him.
Finally, she gathered the courage.
“Can I kiss you?”
He looked at her.
“Sure.”
That one word almost made her forget how to breathe.
She leaned in.
And kissed him.
For a moment, everything else disappeared.
No school.
No friends.
No noise.
Just them.
When they pulled away, she couldn’t stop herself from smiling.
They kept walking until they found a quieter place. They sat down and continued talking, but she was suddenly shy.
She had wanted that moment for so long.
And now it had happened.
She sat close to him, and eventually she found herself sitting on his lap. His arm went around her waist. And then she ask can will continue in what we where doing, and he ask what is that and smirk in is face , but she didn’t answer, but he leaned in and there again them started kissing
Nothing needed to be explained.
She just wanted to stay there.
For once, she didn’t want the moment to end.
But eventually, reality came back.his friends appeared.
She had to leave.
And as she walked away, she looked back.
He was still there.
She didn’t know it then, but that memory would stay with her.
Sometimes, memories don’t ask permission before returning.
A song.
A video.
A random place.
A familiar laugh.
And suddenly, you’re back in a moment you thought you had forgotten.
Two days later, they were talking on the phone again.
She sent him funny dancing videos. They laughed.
She asked if they could call.
“My phone is charging,” he said. “I’ll call when it’s charged.”
“Okay.”
She didn’t know that something was about to change.
Later, a truth-or-dare game happened with her roommates.
It was supposed to be fun.
Just jokes.
Just a game.
But somewhere between the laughter and the dares, things went too far.
She said things to him that she normally wouldn’t say.
Things she didn’t even really mean.
And he didn’t know the whole story.
He didn’t know her roommates were involved.
He only saw her words.
And maybe, from his side, it looked like she had suddenly become someone else.
She eventually went to apologize
“I’m sorry., please don’t be angry of what I said
He looked at her.
“I’m not angry.”
But his chat said something different.
After that, everything changed.
He could laugh with other people.
He could talk to her roommates.
He could smile.
But when it came to her…
Nothing.
Sometimes he would see her and look away.
Sometimes he would walk past her as though she wasn’t there.
And she pretended not to care.
She kept walking.
Kept laughing.
Kept living.
But somewhere inside, she wondered:
How did we go from that to this?
She tried again.
She tried to talk to him.
Tried to make things normal.
Tried to understand.
But every attempt felt like she was pulling on a door that someone had already locked from the other side.
Eventually, she stopped.
Not because she suddenly stopped caring.
But because she was tired of feeling like she was forcing something that used to happen naturally.
Time passed.
And sometimes, she thought she had completely moved on.
Until something reminded her of him.
His voice.
His face.
The way he looked at her.
The way he would stay on video call until he fell asleep.
The way being beside him had once felt so easy.
And she would wonder…
Does he ever remember me too?
Maybe he did.
Maybe he didn’t.
That was the hardest part.
Not knowing.
Because sometimes the most painful endings aren’t the ones where someone says goodbye.
They’re the ones where nobody says anything at all.
Months later, she saw him again.
Across the school.
For one second, their eyes met.
Everything she had buried came rushing back.
The first conversation.
The laughter.
The walk.
The kiss.
His arm around her waist.
The moment she didn’t want to leave.
And then she remembered how they ended.
He looked away.
She kept walking.
Neither of them stopped.
But that night, she lay in bed thinking about him.
Not because she wanted to go back to everything.
Not because she knew what she wanted.
But because some people leave a mark on you without realizing it.
And sometimes, you don’t miss the person as much as you miss who you were when you were with them.
The girl who was brave enough to ask,
“Can I kiss you?”
The girl who didn’t know she was creating a memory she would carry for a long time.
And somewhere across campus was another Divine.
Maybe he remembered too.
Maybe he didn’t.
Maybe one day, they would finally talk again.
Maybe one day, he would look at her and say,
“I’m not angry anymore.”
And maybe she would simply smile.
Because after everything…
Some stories don’t end with two people getting back together.
Some stories end with two people finally understanding what they meant to each other.
And maybe that was enough.
Because there had once been two Divines.
Two people who found each other.
Two people who laughed.
Two people who got close.
Two people who hurt each other without really meaning to.
And two people who, for one beautiful moment, forgot about the entire world…
and chose each other.

I love it
