Become the Man You'd Want to Date
Alright, handsome.
Your first lesson starts here.
And I'm going to begin with something that might sound obvious but is surprisingly easy to forget:
Before you worry about attracting someone, take a good look at the person you're asking them to be attracted to.
Yes.
I'm talking about you.
Not your Instagram pictures.
Not your best shirt.
Not the version of yourself you become for the first two weeks because you're trying to impress someone.
You.
The man underneath all of that.
Because attraction isn't just about having a handsome face, a good body, money, a nice car, or a perfectly styled haircut.
Those things can certainly influence first impressions.
But they aren't what makes someone want to stay.
A person can notice your appearance in five seconds.
Getting them to genuinely want to know you?
That's a different story.
And that's where we're starting.
First Things First: Take Care of Yourself
Let's begin with something very simple.
Hygiene.
Brother, please.
You don't need a designer wardrobe.
You don't need a bathroom shelf full of expensive skincare.
You don't need to smell like you personally own a perfume factory.
But you do need to be clean.
Shower regularly.
Take care of your teeth.
Keep your nails clean.
Wear clean clothes.
Look after your hair.
Use deodorant.
And please-learn the difference between smelling good and bathing yourself in perfume.
One or two sprays can make someone think:
"Hmm, he smells nice."
Twenty sprays can make them think:
"I need an emergency exit."
Taking care of yourself isn't about trying to impress women.
It's basic self-respect.
And yes, women notice it.
We notice when a man takes care of himself.
We notice clean clothes.
We notice fresh breath.
We notice when your hair is looked after.
We notice when you smell good.
We notice when you look comfortable in your own skin.
You don't have to be perfect.
You just need to show that you care about yourself.
Dress Like Yourself-Just Better
Now let's talk about clothes.
You don't need to dress like an influencer.
You don't need to copy whatever man is currently trending on Instagram.
And you definitely don't need to wear something uncomfortable simply because somebody told you women find it attractive.
Find clothes that fit you properly.
Keep them clean.
Understand what colors suit you.
Dress appropriately for where you're going.
If you're going for coffee, you don't need to dress like you're attending the Met Gala.
If you're going to a nice dinner, maybe your old college T-shirt isn't the strongest candidate.
The goal isn't:
"How can I make women stare at me?"
The goal is:
"How can I present myself in a way that feels authentic and put-together?"
Because confidence becomes much easier when you're comfortable with what you're wearing.
Confidence Is Not Arrogance
Now we're getting somewhere important.
A lot of men confuse confidence with dominance.
They aren't the same thing.
Confidence says:
"I know who I am."
Arrogance says:
"I'm better than you."
Confidence says:
"I'd love to get to know you."
Entitlement says:
"You should want me."
Confidence can accept rejection.
Entitlement gets angry about it.
And handsome, if a woman says no to you, your dignity doesn't disappear.
Her rejection doesn't make you less attractive.
It doesn't make you less masculine.
It doesn't mean women don't like you.
It means one person said no.
That's all.
You don't have to turn her into a villain just because she wasn't interested.
And you don't have to turn yourself into one either.
You can simply say:
"No worries. Take care."
And walk away.
That's confidence.
Have a Life Outside Dating
Please don't make finding a girlfriend your entire personality.
Seriously.
Have something going on.
Work toward something.
Learn something.
Exercise.
Read.
Travel when you can.
Spend time with friends.
Build your career.
Take care of your family.
Develop hobbies.
Make memories that have nothing to do with romance.
Because here's the uncomfortable truth:
A relationship cannot become your entire life without eventually becoming too much pressure for the relationship to carry.
Your partner shouldn't have to be your only source of happiness, entertainment, emotional stability and purpose.
She should be part of your life-not your entire life.
And the same should be true for her.
Two people with full lives can come together and create something beautiful.
Two people expecting each other to fill every empty space can create something exhausting.
So build a life you actually enjoy.
Not because it will magically make women chase you.
Do it because your life belongs to you.
Now Let's Talk About Your Personality
This is where things get interesting.
You can have perfect hair.
Perfect clothes.
A great fragrance.
A beautiful smile.
And still make someone want to run away after ten minutes of conversation.
Because your personality matters.
How do you speak to people?
Do you listen?
Do you interrupt constantly?
Do you make everything about yourself?
Do you respect boundaries?
Do you make cruel jokes and then hide behind "Relax, it was just a joke"?
Do you become rude when someone disagrees with you?
Do you treat waiters, drivers, service workers and strangers with respect?
Do you only act kind when you're attracted to someone?
These things matter.
A woman's attention isn't the only audience your character has.
Your character is who you are when you have nothing to gain from being good.
Think about that.
If you're incredibly polite to the woman you're trying to impress but rude to everyone else, that's not kindness.
That's performance.
And people eventually notice the difference.
Don't Pretend to Be Someone You're Not
I know the temptation.
You like her.
You want her to like you.
So suddenly you're interested in all her hobbies.
She loves books?
Suddenly you're a literary scholar.
She likes hiking?
You've apparently been climbing mountains since childhood.
She loves a particular band?
Congratulations, you've been their biggest fan since their first album.
Brother.
You don't need to do this.
If you genuinely share an interest, wonderful.
Tell her.
If you don't, that's okay too.
You can say:
"I've never really listened to them. What do you like about their music?"
Do you know what that does?
It gives her an opportunity to talk about something she loves.
And it lets you learn something new.
That's much more attractive than pretending.
You aren't trying to convince someone you're perfect.
You're allowing them to discover who you actually are.
And Please Learn to Listen
This one deserves its own section.
Because some men think conversation means waiting for their turn to speak.
No, handsome.
Conversation is a two-way street.
If she tells you she had a difficult day, don't immediately turn it into your story.
If she tells you about something she loves, ask her about it.
If she tells you something important, remember it.
If she says she isn't comfortable with something, respect it.
Listening isn't simply staying quiet while someone talks.
Listening is paying attention because you genuinely care about understanding the person in front of you.
And here's something beautiful:
When someone feels genuinely heard around you, they often feel safer around you.
That matters far more than having the perfect pickup line.
The Mirror Question
Now I'm going to give you your first real assignment.
And I don't want a fake answer.
Don't answer what sounds good.
Don't answer what your friends would say.
Don't answer what you wish were true.
Sit somewhere quiet and ask yourself:
"If I met a woman exactly like me today, would I genuinely want to get to know her?"
Think about it.
Would you?
Would you like her personality?
Would you feel comfortable around her?
Would you respect her?
Would you enjoy talking to her?
Would you trust her?
Would you find her emotionally mature?
Would you feel safe telling her things?
Would you want to see her again?
And if the answer is no, don't panic.
This isn't an insult.
It's an opportunity.
Maybe you're too judgmental.
Maybe you don't communicate well.
Maybe you're emotionally unavailable.
Maybe you're still carrying anger from your last relationship.
Maybe you don't take care of yourself.
Maybe you don't know what you want.
Maybe you have some growing to do.
Welcome to being human.
You don't have to become perfect before you deserve love.
But you should be willing to become better.
The Man You Become Matters More Than the Woman You Find
I want you to remember something throughout this entire book:
Don't improve yourself just to become more attractive to women.
Improve yourself because you deserve to respect the man you see in the mirror.
Become healthier.
Become kinder.
Become more emotionally aware.
Become more disciplined.
Become more confident.
Become more honest.
Learn to communicate.
Learn to apologize.
Learn to walk away when something isn't right.
Learn to accept when someone doesn't choose you.
Learn to choose yourself without becoming selfish.
And when you eventually meet someone you genuinely connect with, don't ask yourself only:
"How do I make her like me?"
Ask:
"Do I like who I am when I'm with her?"
That's an important question too.
Because dating isn't an audition where you're desperately trying to convince someone to give you the role of boyfriend.
You're meeting another human being.
You're discovering each other.
You're deciding whether your values, personalities, lifestyles, needs and hopes can fit together.
She is choosing you.
You're choosing her.
That's the beginning of something healthy.
Not winning.
Not chasing.
Not convincing.
Choosing.
Your Rule #1
So, my handsome brother, here's your first rule:
Become someone you would genuinely want to know.
Take care of yourself.
Build a life.
Develop confidence without arrogance.
Learn to communicate.
Listen.
Be respectful.
Be honest about who you are.
And never confuse becoming a better man with becoming a man who performs for women.
You don't need to become someone else.
You need to become the healthiest, happiest, most authentic version of yourself.
That's the man who walks into dating with something much more valuable than a perfect pickup line.
Self-respect.
And trust me-
That's a pretty good place to begin.
Your first assignment, brother :-)
Tonight, look in the mirror and ask yourself one more time:
"If I met a woman exactly like me today, would I genuinely want to get to know her?"
Don't rush your answer.
Sit with it.
I'll see you in our next session.
