Welcome to Nightmoor
Some worlds are discovered all at once.
Nightmoor is not one of them. It is a world meant to unfold slowly.
The Nightmoor Series begins with sixteen-year-old Thorne Nightmoor leaving the peculiar old house where she was raised to attend Veilbourne Academy. For the first time, she is stepping beyond the world she has known mostly through books, lessons, and stories.
It begins with wonder: with new places and unfamiliar kinds of magic, with noble heirs and commoners sharing classrooms, with werewolves and shapeshifters, fae-blooded students, familiars, dragons, and creatures Thorne has never encountered before. There are friendships to make, rivalries to navigate, classes to survive, traditions to learn, and an entire magical world beyond Nightmoor Manor that Thorne has barely begun to experience.
It would all be considerably simpler if strange things did not keep happening.
An old werewolf curse begins casting a shadow over Veilbourne. Students disappear from the academy. An impossible familiar arrives with no particularly helpful explanation for what he is or where he came from. Old stories surface in unexpected places, and answers have an unfortunate habit of leaving more questions behind than they resolve.
But the mysteries are only part of Nightmoor.
Beyond Veilbourne lies Clareness, a kingdom shaped by old Houses like Nightmoor, Lunaris, and Corvain, royal families and ancient creatures, scholars and soldiers, old orders, stranger societies, and even an eclipsed court.
Magic is not hidden away here. It is studied and inherited, practiced and argued over, woven so completely into everyday life that the extraordinary has existed long enough to become ordinary.
And living in the middle of all of it are people who are still trying to figure out who they are.
Thorne and the people who enter her life at Veilbourne will grow up together. They will become friends and fall in love. They will annoy one another, hurt one another, forgive one another, celebrate victories together, and sometimes carry each other through grief. They will make terrible decisions and, occasionally, have the good sense to make better ones.
They will have ordinary days and extraordinary ones. There will be adventures they will talk about for years and quiet moments that matter just as much. There will be things they find, things they lose, and things they choose to hold on to.
Because the world does not stop living when a mystery begins. There are still dinners with friends, classes to attend, people falling in love, arguments to have, and ordinary lives continuing alongside things much larger than any of them. In Nightmoor, the enormous and the ordinary have always belonged beside each other.
Nightmoor was never meant to be discovered in a single adventure. It unfolds one piece at a time, alongside the people living within it.
For now, we begin where Thorne does: at Nightmoor Manor, at sixteen years old, standing on the edge of everything she has ever known with everything else still ahead of her.
House Nightmoor has carried the same words from one generation to the next:
What Is Forgotten Is Not Lost.
And that is where our story begins.
Welcome to Nightmoor.
