The Compassionate King of the Jungle

One quiet afternoon in the dense forest, a large lion was resting peacefully under the shade of a banyan tree, exhausted from its daytime hunt. Just then, a mother deer walked past with her young fawns.

The lion’s eyes fluttered open. It noticed the deer and her little ones passing by, completely unbothered by its presence. Usually, the mere sight of a lion sends animals fleeing for their lives. Yet, this mother deer walked on calmly, guiding her fawns as if the lion were not even there. The scene baffled the lion—it wondered how the deer could be so fearless at such close range.

At that exact moment, a hunter hidden behind the bushes set his sight on the herd. Drawing his bow, he released a sharp arrow that struck the mother deer directly. Moments after walking happily with her babies, the mother collapsed to the ground, dead.

The lion watched as the bewildered fawns huddled over their mother's body, trembling in terror. Seeing these helpless creatures orphaned in an instant melted the beast’s heart. Setting aside its predatory instincts, the lion stepped forward as a protector. Terrified by the lion's roar, the hunter dropped his weapons and fled for his life.

Approaching the fallen deer, the lion gently gathered the trembling fawns under its care. Comforting them softly, the king of the jungle stepped up to become their guardian and father from that moment on.
